cooperatives are not socialist...

"encouraged by their socialist priest"

catholic social teaching is the basis of distributism...

to use the word "socialist" without qualifying it in some way is as meaningless as using the term "capitalist".

the term "socialist priest" is meaningless as priests are professing distributism as part of catholic social doctrine.

the church is very clear on this...both state capitalism and state socialism are not in keeping with catholic social doctrine.

You might say there is one in Deering.

If I was young and single.... maybe.

There's a FSP commune in Deering?

Thinking of Deerfield, perhaps?

I'm not sure how well the public is going to receive the word 'commune'. I'm not the commune type, not that I see anything wrong with voluntary communes. The image that I think it ussually conveys to the public is one of nutty people, cults, and radical left wing politics.

I'm sure that there are other ways to live in New Hampshire with other porcs, until you get on your feet and pick a place to settle. If you want to go the commune route, that's fine and I wish you luck. I just thought I' play devil's advocate for a minute.

A socialist priest encouraged these folks to set up the Mondragon Community. Sounds socialist inspired to me.

That Damn McCotter keeps responding, but, he hasn't said anything about wanting ME in HIS commune!

Let's you and I and Shorty start a commune and not invite McCotter.  ;D

AlanM

Seriously though, anyone interested in starting a miniature Upton's Corners

cathleeninnh

Of course, Alan. We're thinking the time is nigh. Don't start without us.

Always thinking of you and Don.  ;)

I am beginning to get a serious idea about a 'commune' situation based on Shorty Dawkins ideas. Marketing products, literature, and farming all under one umbrella organizatio.

AlanM

How many would be interested in buying Shorty Dawkins brand raw honey, created by NH bees?

cathleeninnh

More than already do? It isn't hard to find.
