What makes you think I want to deal with foreign governments either? 8)

Either as a matter of necessity or to have a nice vacation.

I'm willing to get my passport stamped if it means a week or two of not thinking about government.

It's the returning part where they get you.

I'm making my final travel arrangements for Boston-Concord on Sunday the 12th now. If you'll be in/around Boston and you can give me a ride, please call my cell phone at 202 615 4937. I should be arriving at South Station around 4 pm. Thanks!

QuoteFor some reason people think the passport has to be valid, but expired definitely works. I have a valid one but it was issued after 911 and has all these holographic security features, etc. My old one could be faked with a photocopier and a laminator.

A trip to Office Max seems to be in order.

Oh, I finally got that picture I was intending to get of the bus terminal in Concord.

Here it is, cropped to show the relevant parts.

Oooohh.... That "owned by" is relevant, I would think! I try not to favorably compare Texas to NH (because Texas sucks!), but one thing TX has right is that government facilities don't have the same rights as private property owners. Such as, no government agency (state, county, or local) can prohibit or regulate firearms in any way not expressly authorized by the Legislature.

Does this go back to the "must show ID" objection you have to Concord Trailways?

That "must show ID" thing is my only objection to Concord Trailways.

Especially since it seems to have absolutely nothing to do with security.

During this last trip I dug out an expired pre-REAL ID government ID and bought tickets on Concord Trailways with it. The ticket agent barely glanced at it, and didn't even put my name on the ticket anyway! So much for security. As far as I can tell, having done it twice now, it's an utterly pointless exercise.

The worst part of the whole thing is, I can't determine if the free coffee in the terminal is paid for with taxpayer money or not.

Where are you coming from (physically), Mike?

Wow, Dave should be impressed.  I kept hearing VT for some reason.  I was going to offer a ride.  Still would from Hartford, Springfield, Worcester, but, not Boston.

Maybe he can get there instead of going to Boston.

I was offering a ride from somewhere in NE so you could avoid the evil Trailways.

Thanks! Where were you on November 12th when I needed the ride! ;D

Anyways, it gave me a good excuse to find out whether their claims of it being a security measure held water or not. Turns out they don't.
