Kat Kanning

You got something planned?

Michael Fisher

I was harassed by two police officers last week for protesting alone in front of a local jailschool without government approval. ::)

How do you have government approval to protest? Would they put you in a free speech cage or something?

The bureaucrats have these things they call "free speech zones." They herd anybody who wants to speak to them into the zones, which are conveniently located miles away from the people whom the speakers wished to address.

I told the first officer that I had a right to protest, that there was no such law, and I kept protesting. He drove off.

The second officer threatened me with a ticket, but then drove off. It was about time to leave anyways, so I went home after he left.

How could I forget Mike Fisher from that list?   :duh:

I don't want anyone to go to jail. I think the costs are too high. But if the cost of staying out of jail is your principles, then jail it is. I have gotten firmer in my principles since coming to NH. Most of my friends stand firm on principles. It is inevitable that some will go to jail.

Bingo

The more you see yourself jumping through government hoops like a circus pony,
trotting in a circle with a pink plume strapped to your head -
the harder it gets to consider yourself that free-running wild horse you so admire.

IMHO the cost of doing time is mere inconvienience now, but rising rapidly.  Call me paranoid but I see a unfettered and terrorizing police state growing in the next ten or twenty years that will make the gulags of Siberia look like Mayberry city jail.
Those opposing injustice now have it easy compared to those poor kids who will have to pay with their lives to oppose it in the future.
