Some background: These were students at a California high school last year.

That's alright. I fly my East German flag and Bavarian flag above my American one. But only because I don't have an American flag. I know what country I'm in ;)

Pat McCotter

Was the American flag the one donated to the school thru the American Legion by an Aero Medical Evac unit in Iraq?

That's probably it, but all schools come with an American flag at least, don't they?

Fact is, those Mexifornians were putting their foreign flag above ours. I'm not an expert in "maritime" law (you know, the gold fringe types), but that kinda just irks me the wrong way you know?

Caleb

I like it.  The only sad thing is that they flew the US flag at all, rather than foisting an even more disrespectful indignity upon it.

This is sick.

Well what did you expect? They consider the land to be the property of the Mexican government.

At the school I worked at, they flew the UN flag above the US flag, as if that were a 'government' that was above our sovereignty.
I made the custodian take it down...

The whole point of a stunt like this is to get publicity and to piss off American nationalists.

The whole point is they really believe this and are not afraid to show it. They own the land and we should get out, is their attitude.

If you are that PC that you think is 'right' I shake my head.

And it is not 'nationalism' to want your country to be defined and separate, especially from other more socialist countries.

Could you do this in theirs? I don't think so. I don't understand how you therefore can give them a pass. It makes no sense.

If I come to your house and fly my flag there and claim I own your land, and you don't like it, what nasty un-PC name should I call you?

A hapless homeowner? C'mon, give up that land to me. I own it, because I said so, don't you know?

Are we reduced to being savages with the only way to gain anything is to steal it from someone who can't defend themselves? I thought you people were nonviolent but yet you sanction this kind of stealing and violence?

I don't sanction any kind of stealing and violence. Doesn't matter if it's the gangs in the California desert doing it or the gangs in Washington. I merely find it amusing that the gangs are fighting each other.

I think this is ridiculous.  And I don't understand the 'who cares' attitude.  We've touched on the 'nationalism' before but this is really confusing to me.  I understand that some of the people here are anarchists or damn-near it but geez.  What's the point of us working together to reduce our government when there are millions of people here illegally working to get their government in charge (by claiming this land is theirs to begin with)?

I find it interesting that some would be so upset over the taking of our property by the US government such as they are trying to do to the Browns, but don't care if another government takes your property? Doesn't even make sense.

It's not gangs vs gangs -- it's gangs attacking ranch owners in the border states and running them off their property and claiming the land belongs to them.

Stealing and violence...of which we are protected by our location.

What was that old saying about when the Nazis finally came for me, I helped no one, so there was no one left to help me?

I cannot sanction one world socialism and property mayhem -- it's not a climate for freedom.
My freedom does not include taking yours away by stealing from you.

Because some people are one-worlders and are actually fueling the Orwellian fire.

As the Arab woman said who wrote the book about tyrannical governments including hers, America's political correctness is killing her.

I am just amazed that people calling themselves libertarian would stoop to that level.
