Russell arrested 4/10/07

We stopped by the jail again to ask for my stuff. They handed me 2 Thoreau books that were sent in from Lulu. They assumed they were mine. I guess they didn't go by the mailing lable, but by the philosophy. I don't know who sent them to me. I sent 1 in to be added to the library. I will read the other and then pass it out at the Merrimack Porcupine Meeting.

I will send the jail a bill for the other stuff.

That's funny. I mentioned Thoreau in a discussion with my roommate about why taxes are immoral. I pointed out that he and I both have blood on our hands because we practically wrote a check to pay for the Iraq war (I know that's something we're both against) and reminded him that Thoreau went to jail to avoid paying taxes that would support immoral acts. Everytime he mentions that taxes are a necessary evil, I remind him "So you're saying they are JUSTIFIED theft?" He has yet to present any argument of how they're not theft.

Today I got a book that was sent to me in the jail by someone. It was "New Libertarian Manfesto". Thanks someone.

i think maybe hilliard  is the wrong guy to call...I just noticed he is merrimack county and am not sure how he got in there.    who is the cheshire county sherriff?

finally got a chance to call officer rivera, and got him on the line.

I just thanked him for whatever he may have done to facilitate russell's release.  He seemed pleasantly surprised, also asked me if there was anything he could do to help me...I said no just called to thank you. 

However earlier in the conversation I did mention that I disapproved of their arrest of russell.

They say that when you are in conflict with someone or want them to change their behavoir the most effective thing to do is thank or praise them when they do some small thing you approve of.

Oh good I'm glad you got them, (I haven't heard from you .  I was worried because on 1 of them I put Raineyrocks instead of my "legal" name and I thought maybe they'd find that odd and not give it to you.  I still have a couple more cards left, hopefully I won't have to send them to you though.
