The State is relying on the property owner to enforce this ban.

It would be interesting if the property owners refused to enforce it. They could hang a sign stating: "Smoking is prohibited on these premises per RSA(blah-blah). However the owner of this property welcomes smokers." and then do nothing to enforce the ban.

Will the smoking police enforce the ban?

What's *really* funny is if your idea of an attractive, fun-to-own pipe is not too different from mine

those are beautiful pipes! ;-)

I dont forsee any of them complaining about my terminology
and if they do
then they should get over the fact that it's a commonly used term of disparagement and not intended to affect them in any way.

I don't see a problem either, now that it's duly noted that we do not feel for the mentally challenged similarly in any way to how we feel about bureaucrats!  I for one would rather suffer a head injury than become a bureaucrat! :P

Yeah, but being compared to bureaucrats? :o ;D

To paraphrase Firefly, comparing bureaucrats to pshycotic lowlifes would be an insult to the psychotic lowlife community!

Anyone have any thoughts on the proposal Windham is currently considering to ban smoking OUTSIDE.

WMUR just reported today that they are looking to ban smoking at their public beach.

http://www.nhinsider.com/richard-barnes/2007/5/7/further-smoking-bans-considered.html

That's my take on it as well as a link to the original story.  They are having a public meeting next week so if you know anyone living in Windham, you may want to encourage them to show up.  Not sure if none Windham citizens would be given a chance to talk.

so maineshark ..... are you going to do this?

David

Hmm, possibly do a dada type silent demo with an unlit cigar hanging out of my mouth.  If they piss me off, I might consider getting arrested for lighting it up.   >:D

I've smoked a cigarette before and didn't like it. Perhaps I'll try a cigar. I would rather not do it here in Alaska, and would prefer to get arrested in New Hampshire, where I would get a warm reception from you guys.

I think I'm gonna wait till I get there. I'm a non-smoker by the way.

I'm debating if I should get a new pipe, or use my old one.  The old one actually has tobacco residue in it, so they might take issue with that.  If I get a new one, they'll look even funnier trying to tell me I'm doing something wrong...

Of course, that means I need to find a tobbaconist's shop, in the area.  Anyone know where one might be in the Concord area?

And yes, I do plan to carry a pipe around and torment the anti-smoking nuts.

As long as it is 'tobacco' residue,  what is the problem.

If the idea is to go into non-smoking areas, someone might complain about being able to smell it.

If it's a completely clean pipe, it makes them look even more foolish :)
