My idea for the sorted list:

Forester
Auctioneer
Insurance Broker
Embalmer
Funeral Director
Geologist
Speech Language Pathologist
Therapist, Marriage & Family
Counselor, Alchohol & Drug
Counselor, Substance Abuse
Counselor, professional
Counselor, Pastoral
Social Worker
Massage Therapist
Occupational Therapy Assistant
Occupational Therapist
Physical Therapy Assistant
Dietitian
Optician
Acupuncturist
Respiratory Therapist
Water & Liquid Waste Treatment Plant Systems Operator
Hazardous Materials Removal Worker
Nurse, practitioner
Physician Assistant

So, who wants to operate as an unlicensed forester?  Wait, you have to be licensed to cut down a tree?  Sheesh.  I think a good one for visibility could be auctioneer -- auction on the state house steps, anyone?

error

Oh, now that could be interesting. We could gather up everyone we could find with an orange name tag and auction the state reps to the highest bidder!

(Er, the people with the orange name tags are the lobbyists.)

Ogre

I wonder if it's also a crime to wear an orange name tag at the State House if you're NOT a lobbyist... because we could just make up our own...

"Dada Orwell: Lobbyist for Leafleteers"

"Russell Kanning: Lobbyist for IRS Offices"

Let the bidding begin!

I don't believe it's a crime, but why would you?
As long as you're not being paid to do so, you can just walk in to the State House and start "lobbying" -- ie, giving your opinions to any any all who will listen -- without any identification at all. That's what we do in the NHLA.
Plus, if you're not wearing an orange tag, by and large the Reps will listen to you more -- you're not a paid shill.

Unless, of course, you make a name for yourself as a blowhard, and then nobody listens to you and they just wish you would shut the F--- up. Best example of this is Howard Wilson from LPNH.

Ogre

I was just thinking about the orange tags to use in an illegal auction on the state house steps...

There's yet another danger to becoming a licensed barber: you could become a victim of identity theft when criminals make off with the state's records on you.

You need a license to run an auction?????

I know you need to master the art of talking real fast but a license???

What's the real threat here if someone runs an auction without a license?  That they may not be able to talk as fast?  They wont know how to correctly bang a little hammer and say "Sold to the man in the blue hat!"

Unreal

Ogre

Hey!  You there!  Lildog!  Are you impersonating an auctioneer?  That's a crime, herebouts, you know...

Auctioneer
Embalmer
Forester
Funeral Director

Hazardous Materials Removal Worker
Insurance Broker
Water & Liquid Waste Treatment Plant Systems Operator
Acupuncturist
Counselor, professional
Counselor, Alchohol & Drug
Counselor, Pastoral
Counselor, Substance Abuse
Dietitian
Massage Therapist
Nurse, practitioner
Occupational Therapist
Occupational Therapy Assistant
Optician
Physical Therapy Assistant
Physician Assistant
Respiratory Therapist
Social Worker
Speech Language Pathologist
Therapist, Marriage & Family

Outlaw Dietitian, anyone?  >:D

Or an Outlaw Masseur/Masseuse! So many choices...
But not pharmacy tech? I'm a licensed pharmacy tech and trust me, I needed to do nothing for the state to get licensed, only fill out a form and send them $25. It is just as useless as the rest of them.

David

Not useless at all Rochelle.  That 25 dollars is very useful to the gov guys recieving it.

Let's not forget printers and of course publishers
