Another "commission" squeezing out the competition

Realtors first complained last August to the state Real Estate Commission about ISoldMyHouse.com?s activities, alleging the For Sale by Owner service is operating as a broker without a license under New Hampshire law. A commission investigation is continuing.
Last week, an attorney for East-West Mortgage?s ISoldMyHouse.com division questioned whether the business can get a fair hearing before the New Hampshire Real Estate Commission over the Realtors? complaint.

?If the effect of the stipulation is to send this matter back to the New Hampshire Real Estate Commission, a majority of which is comprised of New Hampshire Realtors, we have misgivings as to how this will lead to more New Hampshire consumer choice,? attorney Chris Gallagher, of Gallagher, Callahan and Gartrell law firm in Concord, said.

?We have asked that its New Hampshire Realtor members recuse themselves from further consideration of this matter,? Gallagher said. ?To date, there has been no response to our request.?

Ouch.  There's the true nature of business licensing.
