A good lesson on why violence isn't the answer.  How different would that have turned out if the old guy had used non-agressive disobedience?

Give the government a reason to pistol whip you, and they'll be happy to oblige.

They don't need a reason.  If they want to pistol-whip you (or anything else), they will.  That's why so many carry "drop guns" (or knives or whatever) that they can wrap your hand around to get fingerprints on it, and then claim you used to attack them.

QuoteThe deputy said Montgomery ignored the deputy and continued to paint the wall with a long-handled paint roller.

According to Deputy District Attorney Alex Harper, Montgomery hit the deputy over the head with the roller when the deputy tried to wrestle it away.

Sounds to me like the cop initiated force and should be charged with felony assault himself, as well as tresspassing, and sued for any and all damages done to the property owner he agressed against.  But we know that won't happen.  Sounds like this poor old dude's guilty of nothing but "contempt of cop".

EVERY American should get to see the cops' reaction when you tell them to go pound sand where they have no "authority" be it imagined or by statute.  They wig the hell out and start the beating/tackling and arresting anyone who doesn't jump when they bark orders.

Did I read that right that the cop had a few stitches in his head and some paint on him while the 81 year-old man had lots of broken bones? What do you call someone who beats an elderly man like that? "Bully" seems like far too soft of a term.
