I thought this was pretty cool.

Digg at: http://digg.com/environment/Pit_Bull_vs_Porcupine_1347_Quills_to_the_Snout_OUCH

Here is one of the most shocking photos I have seen of animal defense in its most basic form. Simply a major porcupine counter attack. Who could stand a chance?

These photos make the rounds every few months. It happened over two years ago. It's a bull terrier, not a pit bull (they look nothing alike).

Her name is Inca and she survived just fine. There's a Snopes page about the incident.

Hm.

The larger photos at snopes.com are a bit more bloody than the tiny one I'm forced to use. Not that seeming less bloody is a bad thing, mind you. :O~

I used to freak every time my border collie would see a porcupine and want to investigate it.

It's no fun pulling the quills out of the snout of your best buddy puppy dog...ugh!

My pup liked to herd everything she saw...

Insane!
They should have just killed the poor dog.

This is a perfect analogy of why the Feds should stay out of New Hampshire, agreed?

I know it looks horrible, but according the the snopes.com story, the dog didn't have anything vital hit and was patched up by the vet without any complications.

No word on the naked porcupine.

No word on the naked porcupine.

Judging by the number of quills in the dog, I would say, Half-naked porcupine.  :biglaugh:
