QuoteAnd I think these movies are trying to get people to think in such a way that they would be giving up their liberties.

If someone's choice of lifestyle precludes, for example, the ability to have a large family, does that mean they are giving up the right to unlimited reproduction?  No, it just means that unlimited reproduction is rather low on their list of priorities.  This is the case for any and every right.  Choosing not to exercise a right is not the same as giving it up.  I think most people here understand this intrinsically.  But for some reason, many lose sight of this fact when others' 'list of priorities' get a bit too different from their own.

Hmm, people should be able to choose whether they want 0 kids or 14 of them.

What I worry about is being FORCED to have 1 or something like that, which the government has no business doing.

I think the masses in Manchester are going to pillage Bedford before they die off.

Why would they do that?

survival of the fittest.  :)

The earth, sky and waters will all begin to heal once some of us are gone. Like George Carlin said, I forget his exact words) " the earth will be fine once man gets the fuck off of it and sooner or later she will shake us off like a bad case of fleas.

The Hopi Prophecy is interesting... and I believe there is a connection linked to the weather modification experiments that are currently happening (HAARP, aerosol spraying, geoengineering, etc). I am also concerned of a forced vaccination program (after a bogus scare tactic) which will begin massive epidemics.

Not to worry though. There is much more to life than this physical world here on the big blue marble.

Why are we arguing again?  ;D

I think what it comes down to is that you and I will never agree on how or to what end we should exercise our rights.  Isn't that, in a way, just an affirmation of liberty?

Desperate men will do desperate things...  :-\

I mean why would those two places be linked in particular is what I meant?

Well if socialism means liberty I think you should join EA's cult.

As opposed to RP's cult?

"We cannot–must not–take away any individual's choice. That choice is the last sacred thing we have left. We cannot choose death for them through violence; yet it would be just as wrong to force them to choose life." - from The Thirty Theses

If you consider these to be the words of a socialist - or of socialism in general - well, then, feel free to call me a socialist I guess.

RP has no 'cult'; no plan for new types of taxation, or for moving people into 'shires' ruled by some new form of socialistic tyrant who determines who can use the 'land'.

Plus he won't chew your ear of about same.

Geesh!

::)

EthanAllen

Quoteno plan for new types of taxation

me neither we already have a "tax" on land...I just want the economic rent to go to the individual members of the community to uphold their absolute right of self-ownership.

Quoteor for moving people into 'shires'

people live in counties now - this would just replace counties but have real power which has been decentralized from the state.

Quoteruled by some new form of socialistic tyrant who determines who can use the 'land'

the only justified use of force is to uphold the absolute right of self-ownership and in this case it is purely defensive in nature.

oh I almost forget, you have no idea that the fundamental tenet of libertarianism is the absolute right of self-ownership.

how silly of me to think that your intellect had progressed beyond the 5 year olds you taught.

CNHT

No matter.

I can at least recognize a desperate and power-hungry person when I see one.

Insurgent

I, for one, promise not to hijack any RP threads.

Insurgent

The producers of the film are currently on a film tour in the NorthWest and have been blogging about the screenings. Really interesting reading!

It was EA that did it not me. I still think that this whole thing with the doomsday movies is a huge hoax with the intention of leading the sheeple into another tax just like the L.O.S.T. Treaty where we are about to give the UN control over 70% of the earth's surface and the air above it and the power to tax and prosecute in a 'world court'. You can't stand what they did to Ed Brown but you're going to put your stamp of approval on a world court? Sheesh.... It's just nuts that any of you would fall for it!
