Dunkin' Donuts Checks for Illegal Aliens...
The company's franchisees have recently begun posting signs in shop windows that read: "We follow the law! This company hires lawful workers only."

Dunkin' Donuts is one of the thousands of American companies that is voluntarily checking its employment applicants against a federal database.  Soon this federal employee citizenship verification program may become mandatory for all American companies.  This means that the federal government will be able to say whether or not you can work!  If you thought the no-fly list was bad, just wait till this becomes mandatory.

Dunkin' Donuts is helping usher in the police state.  Please oppose these pandering nationalists and buy your donuts and coffee somewhere else.  Better yet, let them know how you feel:

Be careful with this issue (immigration freedom), people are very sensitive and misinformed about it.  Unless you are very informed and persuasive, this is not worth risking a business relationship over.

FTL_Ian

As I understand it, they are requiring all franchisees to participate.  So, even if he agrees with you it is unlikely he's going to give up his franchises in order to join the boycott.

So when you're talking about it to someone, don't concentrate on the undocumented immigrants that this program is designed to catch. Frame it in terms of how the program is hurting Americans—all the false positives and bad data in the system. Tell them how they're losing prospective qualified employees as a result of said false positives. Show them how people are trying to organize a boycott against them (this thread) as a result of their participation in the program.

Do you really want some faceless bureaucrat at a lunatic asylum in D.C. telling you who you can and cannot hire? Also keep in mind this is a government program, and government programs always expand beyond their original purpose. Next they'll decide that "suspected terrorists" can't work, or "Muslims" can't work, or just whoever they don't like that day. The next time you look for a job, it could be you.

Same here.  I went in one once since we've been in NH and it made Kira sick.  I don't like coffee or donuts anyway.

DD is EVERYWHERE out here. Freaky. I will avoid them.

I don't really care for Dunkin Donuts coffee anymore. They've done something to it.

Even better yet would be to open competing establishments, hire the most competent and efficient workers of whatever legal status, and--by thus avoiding the extra burden that DD is subjecting themselves to--provide a better customer experience for a lower price.

Taking a bite out of their profits in the marketplace would get their attention as well as demonstrate to the rest of the world that economic prosperity doesn't come from jingoistic adherence to the laws of politicians.  It comes from respectful observance of the laws of economics.

Well I guess no more DD I guess I will go to Timmy Ho's

DD seems to be partially owned by the Carlyle Group.

Welllllll, the carlyle group is known to do something with crude oil, but I've never gotten a straight answer as to what they do with it.   ;D >:D

My son just started working there, didn't we all once upon a time. :)  The manager told him to remove his lip piercing, it's in the manual you can't have any facial piercings so I asked my son why he even took the job.  Teenager, no answer. ::)  But the story gets better, he goes in the bathroom, tries to remove it and he can't so he continued to work because they were busy.
So 4 hours later his manager yells at him, he tells her he'll go back to where he's living and remove it so it'll stop bleeding before he comes back to work.  Not good enough for her so my son flipped his switch, (got pissed), and told everyone there that everyone's being treated like a guneau,(sp?), pigs and people need to stand up for their rights.  He went on about the government etc, and some people actually did walk out with him.
Now after what I just read above I wonder what will happen to him.   :-\

When I worked there it was a blast, no cameras, nothing they didn't even make lunch stuff like they do now.  I used to stand out of the drive-thru and wave customers in, the bosses loved me because I worked the night shift and it was always packed.  My sister was the donut filler and we used to fight all of the time because I was a 17 year old flirt and she'd get stuck carrying out the donut trays.  Now that I'm more mature I see why she used to get so mad.  One time I got mooned at the drive-thru, the stories I could tell but I know that's not what this thread is about so I'll shut up. :)

None of which was relevant to the situation he was in.
He was voluntarily working for a private business.
He voluntarily left, presumably before being fired.

Sounds like the manager is a dick (no news there).
Sounds like the teen needs to read a little more (no news there, either). I suggest Atlas Shrugged
