Just a few months ago, on a dark, very cold, and very windy night I awoke to a thump outside my room - but inside the house - and an unexpected cold draft inside the house. I was home alone and so I knew - fully - what conditions to expect at 2:30 in the morning. This was not what one would expect.

I had left my bedroom door wide open to let in the low warmth of the house. All other bedroom doors in the house had been closed (since there was no point in heating the unoccupied rooms).

So anyway, I got up to stoke the fire, and I found that the bedroom door across the hall was ajar. The other door (on the other side of that same room) which had also previously been closed, was now wide open. The hallway was very cold.

There is more to the story of that night (which I'll maybe share later) but anyway, at about 5:15 - just before the sun was about to rise - a bat appeared in the basement, flew three times around me, and then disappeared.
The real Bitch of a problem I see here is the door becoming a jar.  It's a pain in the ass unscrewing the top when you want to get in and out of the room.

Hmmmm, that's unknown territory for me, even when they're living!  ;D

Oh my...um...yeah.
