I just another idea about a couple more ideals.potential name for the Social/Meet up in Dover, every Wednesday currently named "Slice & Dice Wednesdays" (the place sells Pizza (yummy), whole pies as well, greek salads, ...they look good, beer and wine too.

So here's the choices and of course if you have any other potential names, please feel free to share them!

HANGING CHAD ONE:  Slice and Dice Wednesdays

HANGING CHAD TWO:  Come on Over to Dover Rover Wednesdays

HANGING CHAD THREE: Over To Dover Wednesdays

HANGING CHAD FOUR: Nice Slice Wednesdays

HANGING CHAD FIVE: Seacoast Liberty         (opps, I just found out that this has been the name they are allready using on NH Calandar)

HANGING CHAD FIVE:    Write In (knock yourself out!

Thanks for your input!

I know I'll probably hear about it, it's proximity, the historical implications of the name, etc.

I hate how they call it Seacoast liberty. . . when you can drive 1 mile to the Ocean, that's pretty Seacoast.  If you can drive 3, that's still seacoast.

Dover, while in the seacoast region, isn't Seacoast.  When someone says Seacoast, it's Portsmouth, Rye, North Hampton, Hampton, Hampton Beach, Seabrook to most people I know.  Most people I know would not call Dover, the Seacoast, they'd call it the Dover Area.  Somersworth, yep Dover Area.  Then once you're through the Dover area you get to the Crochester area.

Good points.  I did  not even know that they allready had named it, (when I mentioned to one of the starters of it that I was thinking of calling it Slice and Dice Wednesdays)....boy did I feel like an idiot! (not the first time, sure it won't be the last) when I saw it on NH Calander as Seacoast Liberty...

Seacoast, makes me think of one possible "suspect".... who just might be behind it...a man by the name of Max, who is presently somewhere out at Sea
on Planet Earth.

Anyway, I got the impression that I could name it whatever I thought best.

So we've got the toughest one to crack because we have that damn "W" to work with....so the more I think about it, the more I think it should be two names (one being the day) as that's what all the others are..Taproom Tuesday, Social Sundays.

Great suggestions from Fac. to Icon...Wevoluction is too funny!

PS:
I've recently discovered there's a "new Poll" button, (right in front of my face), so I'm going to get that up today and I"m sure we'll get more input...anyway, thanks for everyone's comments, I need all the free advice I can get.

All of this is irrelevant since the meetup group is based in Portsmouth  :)

Wednesday nights the group meets in Dover because that's more convenient than Portsmouth for a lot of the members.  Other times it has meetups in Portsmouth, Seabrook, etc. -- bona fide "Seacoast" locations.

that does take a lot of steam out of my arguments, but thankfully they're just my opinion.

How about Strawberry Banke Seacoast Social Whip it out Wednesdays

Whip it out Wednesdays!?  Wow, that's something!! different!

Basically I was trying to give Seacoast LIberty a name that parralled the other weekly events, across the state, i.e; Taproom Tuesdays, Social Sundays..to use the day, in the name to help promote/help people remember, because I didn't think the Dover Meet Up HAD a name, other than the Meet Up in Dover, which I now know is actually called Seacoast Liberty, based in Portsmouth, that meets in Dover.

Now I think I'm going to probably delete this thread as I'm starting feel the positive thing I was trying to do, is just not working.  Like I said, I didn't know it had a name or advertising as I didn't see it on NH Underground's Calander....but I did just discover it on a new website to me..NH Calander.  It was never my intention to "hijack' this event just so I could give a name..rather I wanted to help promote something that I thought had 0 advertising.

So I think I'll just put it on NH Underground's calander, using Seacoast Liberty (but it sure is tempting to use Wevouloution Wednesdays or Seacoast Wednesdays!)

The Seacoast group just doesn't advertise or promote themselves very well. They could use some help in this area.

We have actually had tables at a number of different events with the sole purpose of promoting ourselves. As a result of this outreach, we've drawn in quite a few new folks. I'd be willing to venture that 2/3 of our members are outreach and word of mouth members. Heck, a few weeks ago a guy was wandering around looking for his friends. I asked him if he was looking for Seacoast Liberty. He said he wasn't but that he'd heard about us. He didn't see his friends so he decided to sit and talk with us until they arrived. Well, upon their arrival, they too sat with us. They wound up being the last to leave with my husband and I. The original guy who said that he had heard of us has become a frequent attendee of our Wednesday gathering.
We have our own literature too.
We have regular meetings as well as monthly business meetings and are rather organized for a liberty group.
We're mostly out and about, just not on the internet so much. We started as a small group of 10 or so members and we're over 100 a year later. A solid constituency is consistently participatory. We've had nearly 200 well attended meetups. If I seem a bit defensive, it's because I am. My heart and soul is in this group. In fact, I've shed every other single political obligation I've ever entangled myself in to only be involved with this group. Not that it's politics centric but that there is an element of political activism via whatever means individual members choose, reasonably speaking of course.
I've met and made dear and beloved friends.  Simply because someone hasn't bothered to check it out and chooses rather to draw what I deem to be inaccurate perceptions rather than to investigate, this in my opinion is defense worthy.

It's good to hear that it's going well. But this is just about the first I've heard of what's really happening on the Seacoast.

I was a bit put off when I went to the Meetup web site and couldn't find out where it was.
