I would think it is a victory that the mpd notices the freestaters in manchvegas are a group to reckon with.

This is of great concern. It's just a matter of time before a "peaceful demonstration" becomes "unlawful gang activity". This should not be viewed lightly.

First time Russell went to jail they asked for gang affiliations.   Think he told them freestater.

I find it HILARIOUS that they ask.

Perhaps Manch politicos can make this a new issue with the PD.  Contact them for a public comment and publicize the results, alert the press, etc.

We achieved gang status with the ICE guys 2 years ago. :)

...Dispatch:  "He has a protection order from Laura Thibideau,  he is also flagged in house, 37, uncooperative,  possible free stater and gang affiliate."...

This sounds very ominous to me. We may be the subject of some unknown MPD "Watch List" This needs to be followed up as soon as possible.

Is there any validity that Arron Devlin is a Freestater?
Would have to check with FSP

Is he also A gang member? By extension, is the Free State project a gang in the eyes of the MPD?...

This is pretty creepy.

You might be able to find out the answers to your questions via use of the Right to Know law. They may even have a standard form for RtK law requests at the reception desk. If not, you can just write out your request for information. The agency (MPD) will then have to respond within 5 days, even if the response is that they think they cannot give out certain information. Once you've gotten a decline from them, you can proceed to Superior Court with a suit asking the judge to order disclosure. If the judge orders in your favor, you can recover legal costs. The AG's office produced an opinion years back under what conditions an agency could decline to produce records - you can get a copy of the opinion by calling the AG's office. An example would be an ongoing criminal investigation. There are lawyers that specialize in these cases and have a special interest in civil liberties. PM me to discuss further.

Good luck

Like investigating a gang?  WIN for circular logic.

i like how they make reference to free stater and gang affiliate after stating the individual is being uncooperative.

As I heard it they have three separate flags in their database for Mr. Partridge:

1: Uncooperative
2: Possibly free stater
3: Gang affiliate

That was dispatch talking to the field unit.

Still... It's the first step to linking GANG and Free State.

I have been looking to see if it is just a California way of dealing with gangs, or a national way but I haven't been able to find anything yet.

In California for a gang to be legally called a "gang" it has to have a presence inside prison(s). Due to this if someone did state they were part of a "Free Stater" gang while going into incarceration this might have allowed them to add "Free Stater" as a official gang.

From what I remember this was only a California law or statue or policy, in fact we got our list of gangs from a group that specifically worked on such a list and provided it to agencies but they did have a process to add them at the higher levels of the department.
