I need some ideas for an anti-tax publicity stunt.  This is for a proposed increase in the sales tax.  It would also be beneficial if this could be used as a fund raiser too.   Any ideas?

Buy something and refuse to pay the tax portion?

Move to a place that doesn't have a sales tax? That would be a good stunt.

doobie

Go shopping somewhere and try to only pay for the price listed on the tags.  Refuse to pay more than the ticket price.  Make a scene, and if they don't sell it to you for that, just walk out.

How about ideas that are actually productive.  If I wanted asinine comments like this I would have asked for them.  You just earned a Douche Bag Award.  Dumb ass.

If you're a business and sending the sales tax to the government, go in person and pay in pennies. Don't agree to sign each roll of coins or anything like that.

We don't have a sales tax. Did you mean the meals tax?

Take that attitude to a restaurant and refuse to pay the tax at the end of the meal!!

Years ago, when discussion about fighting the CT sales tax came up, it was said that a retailer would settle for a signed piece of paper from a tax refuser to cover their own ass. I assume that it was considered a promise to pay the state directly.
You could do this.  Then, publicly declare that you do this and will never pay.

I meant NH likes to rename the taxes to meet the PR. Room & Meals, Car Rental, Gas, Communication, Electric, Real Estate Transfer...
NH does the opposite of other States... instead of imposing a general sales tax and then listing the exemptions. It lists all the things to be taxed.

Other states impose a general sales tax, and then list all those things for additional added taxes.
