I know a lot of people that refuse to go to anti-war protests.... they don't like being anti or focusing the negative side of things; However they will go to pro peace rallies though.

It's based on some Mother Theresa quote... something to the effect of:

"I was once asked why I don't participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I'll be there."

I have to work on friday, so I can't go to your pro peace rally.

I will be there.

I will be opposing the war. I don't like people being killed or killing in my name.

Whatever she supports, I'll be there. I'm not opposing or supporting her, I'm supporting peace and opposing aggression.

Wanna come?

I can't be there, working that day, but we're also protesting war on the 12th in Concord.

There'll be a bus heading there, if anyone wants a ride from GRafton...just chip in for gas.

Kat thanks for inviting activists to Concord on the 12th. I wasn't sure what was meant by the reference to the 12th  in your all's above post  but now I see, and am now reading tonight's thread about this protest posted in November.  Just now getting into real internet w move and getting up to speed with the forum posts here. I am glad you are keeping US sanctioned torture front and center in the minds of the public. Wish I could attend but having the same problem w work scheduling. Good luck!  Hope I can be at the next one in Concord. It will be useful for activists to go to both protests Concord and at Manchester for Shea Porter's office at 11:00 FRIDAY. Multiprong  protest strategies, WOW!!!   ;D (And Weds protest beside 12A/I89 7:00PM) !!!

Thanks Jaqeboy for the Antiwar activist Shaheen referral. I'm on it.

Makes me wonder more about the peace vs antiwar protest ID. Guy tells me that antiwar masculine ID is better, not wanting to be "peace" as some guys would be self conscious??. Guy told me this and it is a guy thing to some guys, I'm sure not all guys.  I don't know or maybe should not use this input. I do believe in antiwar being stronger and to the point in a self defense kind of way. Not sure if I agree with Mother Teresa on this (had a miserable time in parochial school). Well I have probably lost some diplomacy points, feel the smites now, ouch.

Can't please everyone all the time. Prob. be an individual but lone protester at Shea Porter's office. Will I get any help from  Porc411 if I get carried off? I promise to be respectful and good like I was brought up... :jailbird:

I would just advertise it as both a pro-peace rally and antiwar protest,  that way you make everyone happy.

I feel  like it's a silly thing to make an issue out of, but everyone you meet in the antiwar or pro-peace movement is an idealist.

Fluff and Stuff

Does NH Peace Action know about this event?  If they don't you might want to tell them.  They might tell others about it so that more people come out.  There are lots of peace rallies in the state all of the time.  NH Peace Action often mentions them.

At the top of the website you will see the phone number and email.

bigmike

I'm coming and planning to bring some "you get what you pay for" pamphlets to get others thinking about not paying taxes to fund these wars. see you there.

Thank you Fluff and Stuff, for the referral I am on it now! Wish I had seen this earlier,  did not web search adequately. While I was looking I saw  groups that had some really left structure that sort of turned me off. I hope to keep a focus on libertarian antiwar/peace solutions on this rally. I will check them out and listen to their organization for help, let them know about Friday 11:00. Thank you again!!! Patty Lee

Hello,
I am so happy to find out about NHpeaceaction! I appreciate your well developed web site reflecting the noble work of such dedicated activists. I wish I had found this sooner.
It certainly is imperative to be involved in antiwar activity or peace activity especially since President Obama;  Senator Shaheen and Rep. Carol Shea Porter are supporting expansion of war in Afhganistan with the recent employment of 30,000 troops. I  recently moved to NH as part of the Free State Project to work towards greater liberty and this recent war development is unacceptable. A more seasoned activist just referred me to your site. I personally agree with most of your oganisation's mission.and am  very glad to see the schedule of many vigils around NH and would love to attend these as possible.
I learned about you while in the midst of joining libertarians and other peace loving peoples such as yourselves, to make peaceful protest (quickly planned) this Friday; 11:00 at Rep. Shea Porters' Manchester office (33 Lowell Street). Despite the  lack of personal experience in organizing a protest, I feel confident that together our common short term goals can come true.
Hope to see you all there!

                                                                                                      Sincerely,
                                                                                                             Patricia Lee

OK, very good...
but check out their Mission statement underlined, which keeps me here as a libertarian:
Our Mission
The members of New Hampshire Peace Action envision a world committed to disarmament[/u] and peace, nonviolent conflict resolution, and respect for the rights and inherent worth of all people. We believe that authentic social change comes from the bottom up and we are committed to educating, organizing and advocating from the grassroots level. Together, we have the power to change the world. Join us.

K. Darien Freeheart

NH Peace Action, as far as I know, supports peace.

The word "disarmament" doesn't throw me off.

Tomorrow, we'll oppose destroying people and property in the name of the collective of "us". When out allies start chainging "no guns!" we can oppose that.

Today, I'd prefer not to see innocent people on either side killed. Maybe the anti-gun folks might even be open to our message. We won't know if we don't try.

By design America was not supposed ally with anybody and was supposed to trade with everybody.
Unfortunately rulers figured out soon enough that war is perfect mean to perpetuate and expand control over ruled, extort their effect of labor and life.
To dupe gullible population Machiavelli's "ends justify the means" was served.
Government mafias created WWI, WWII, war on alcohol, war on drugs, war on poverty and now war on terrorism.
Indeed war is health of state (ruling mafia).
I will be there to protest against war.
Home land security is second amendment. We do not need anything else.

Just now getting Internet back after power failure, no heat or water for several hours, then work.

:icon_pirat: Scary weather I don't want violent car accidents on our noble antiwar and peace activists, but I will be there. I can help transport from Lebanon/ Grafton 6033066923. I will stop at Grafton  compound ready to go to Machester at 9:00 AM sharp. If weather gets really bad can we all sleep together in a hotel room on my dime? (I will bring a sleeping bag.)  Need hats/ mittens warm dry socks, change into dry clothes to stay warm. All right LET"S ROLL!!! Peace and Love but with Self Defense from US foreign policy.  !!!
