Thanks a bunch for putting that memorial up john and to all who are putting up signs etc.

John

10/4 Someone had to move this idea forward. It is happening... It is just the 1st...

plus Dave, i always credit you as the person i originally got the idea from, and also decided that minimal words in name of monument is better as you've suggested. Also decided it is better to call it a monument rather than a memorial because many victims we honor are still alive.

Pat K

Really sorry to see this.
What a bunch of crap.

Hope Russell is free from his captors soonest.

Hope you are doing as well as can be Katt.

Kat Kanning

Right now, Russell is imprisoned in Leavenworth.  SilentBob, could you tell me how to file the writ of habeus corpus?

To:
The President of the United States
The Chief Justice of the United States
The Warden of the Leavenworth Detention Center

This letter is in respect to the incarceration of Russell Kanning, who has been held by the United States Federal Government since December 23, 2012, for the crime of chalking.

1.  Russell Kanning was exercising his right to freedom of expression when accosted by United States Federal Agents.

2.  Mr. Kanning has not been brought before a judge in a timely manor.

3.  The Executive Branch of the United States, in continual abuse, is circumventing the Judicial Branch by punishing Mr. Kanning without a finding of guilt.

I demand Russell Kanning's immediate release and the explanation of your heinous activity.

Sincerely

James Leroy Johnson

Email me your phone number and a good time to call you.

I'm assuming you are in the Kansas area.

At least its a "privately owned" facility. The *free* market at work. :)

I'm in TX for a few days, so I thought I'd file it in Waco, but if it needs to be filed in KS, his parents are there.

It's a bit odd... he was picked up in Missouri, right? And he's now in a KS contract jail, for what was a Texas warrant, for a charge the NH feds dropped...

FuckifIknow...

The only thing I know is that by having an *-049 register number, the U.S. Marshals in NH were the first to process him into the fed system. He'll always have that number in the fed system.

Leavenworth is a town. There's the military prison, a federal prison, a state prison, and apparently this private detention center.

Kat Kanning

SilentBob got me hooked up with Russell's old public defender on this.  :)

The lawyer's office say nothing will happen in the Waco court until Russell's transfered to mclennan county jail.  She said she'd find out how long it will take to do this transfer and call me back.   The lady there was very helpful.

Kat Kanning

Well, I just found out that Russell did have a court appearance in MO on 12/27.  All they did was order him transferred to TX.
