I guess people are 'sensitive' when it comes to pot.

I know some people who smoke every day and are functioning adults.
I know a few people who smoke every day and are... stoners.

It seems that 9th has met all the stoners in her personal experience.  There is no need to 'set the record straight' or defend a plant.

It seems Ian and I are on opposite sides of the "pot sensitive" coin.  Still doesn't mean I have a problem with him.

Maybe when I move to NH, pot smoking capital of the U.S., I will meet some of these functional adult pot smokers you speak of.  It would be nice to see some evidence of that.  I really am open-minded, believe it or not.  I just know what I've seen and it would be stupid to pretend all the evidence of my experience is wrong because... well... some guy on the internet says so.

You have met many of these functional adult pot smokers, they just didn't tell you they smoke pot.

If you let your view on the matter be know, I'm sure they will continue to hide it from you.

I have met many, many people who thought they were functional and responsible and who also sometimes thought they hid it well.  Does that count?

I just don't like misinformation.

I didn't say brain damage.

You said:
QuoteSmoking anything at all, really, makes people stupid; it kills brain cells.

I took the liberty of translating that to mean "brain damage".

You're meeting them right now.

I've smoked pot for nearly a decade and have spent plenty of time in the drug culture.  Of course you'll have to take my word for the fact that I'm responsible.  I have my own syndicated radio show with an international listenership.  You think that's something a non-functional person can do?

Also, I've seen plenty of stupid people drinking alcohol in my life, but I've never once thought that all drinkers are the same.  There are responsible drinkers just like there are responsible pot smokers.

After spending some time in NH, I would not be suprised if 1/5 of the teens/adults in NH smoke weed.

what happened to the bill that would have forced pseudoephedrine behind the counter?

a month ago i bought some advil cold and sinus in manchester, and had to write my name/adress/phone number in this big white book behind the counter. of course, i just gave them some bullshit info, but it was still just completely ridiculous.

Whenever I'm asked to provide my address, whether for government intrusions or other unwanted private intrusions to my privacy, I usually put down my address as 1313 Mockingbird Lane (NYC, NY 10001).  Hardly anyone gets the reference.   ;)

1313 Mockingbird Lane! Now THAT is comedy!  ;D

There are plently of functional pot users - I know some who are self-made millionaires.

And then, there are people who talk about "Being cool to be on the Moon."  8)

I think the 1-in-5 thing is probably about right, and with 20% smoking pot, we have one of the healthiest, richest states in the union.

Any addiction is bad, though. I know several people who have ruined their lives with drinking and gambling. It's all a matter of how you handle potential demons.
