Quote from: Lloyd Danforth on October 17, 2006, 04:27 PM NHFTI've installed a few programable thermostats for my customers and they love them.

Programmable thermostats are just plain great.  They are, in my opinion, the only HVAC component that Honeywell has ever gotten right.  Although the jury is still out on the L7224U... it's a world better than any other aquastat Honeywell makes, from a service standpoint...

The Honeywell TH6110D is a pretty slick thermostat, actually.  And, with the options available in the contractor setup section of the programming, it can really be customized to meet the homeowner's needs.

If you don't have a programmable thermostat (to automatically make the change) it's worth buying one. They're easy to install.

65-70 in winter.

Yes Keith, we were talking about winter.
Thanks for the tip.  I don't do it different by night and day but do it different by season.  If you want to know more about this, PM me and I'll send you an article I wrote about it.

Ours is set at goes to check 66F.

It doesn't turn on very often for us, though, because we get quite a bit of heat from our downstairs neighbor.

66 to 68 in the winter

72 to 74 in the summer

Just perfect...

68 in winter. Whatever the fans bring it to in summer.

Turns out we weren't as tough as we thought we were.  I installed a digital thermostat recently and at the time of install the old analog one read 52 degrees.  When activated, the digital read 60-61, so we thought it was colder than it was.  It's now 59 in our house.

How much do the programable thermostats run?  I'm in an apartment, so I don't think it would be cost effective for me.

Mine is set about 60.

Mine creeps up during the night. I set it as low as it can go when I go to bed and wake up with it back up to about 90. I think I need a new one, but my landlord doesn't believe me. It doesn't creep during the day.

90?!?!  That's crazy.  When I lived off campus last winter, my room would get sweltering but the room right above me was freezing cold.  A lot of landlords really suck.

My tenants brought me cookies and candy in a nice little basket when they paid the Jan rent.   8)
