If you're talking heating oil, most places closed their pre-buy programs in November.

I opted not to do that this year.

The prices were falling so I was advised not to.

On the other hand, now that there is no hole in the wall in my hallway, I'll bet the house will use a lot less oil!

NYMEX also trades futures contracts on unleaded gasoline. Is 42000 gallons about what you had in mind?

Consider moving up to a diesel.  It is safer to store the fuel and in a pinch you can run it on Bio diesel, home heating oil, kerosene, yurpintine and with a conversion, used fryer oil.
