Does anyone live in Derry, Auburn or Hooksett?

I finally took a drive down to southern New Hampshire yesterday and I really liked the 3 areas I mentioned in the subject line.
I looked at real estate for sale online in those places and homes are priced real high, what are these area like?  I like them because their right in the middle of Concord and Manchester but I'd like to get someone's opinion that actually live there.  Are there any drive-ins close by?

We might have to move to be closer to where my husband works, he's driving 20 hrs. a week to go to work and it's costing us a lot of $$ in gas and plus he is tired of the drive.  He works in Newburyport, Mass. and we live in Campton now.

I did get lost in Laconia this week and loved that area but it would still be too far away from where he works.

Auburn and Derry are between Concord and Manchester? :)

DeLorme' NH Atlases:  $15.00 at Porcfest.  $5.00 goes to the Liberty Scholarship thingy.  If you can't wait, email me and I'll mail you one

I guess Auburn could be considered between the two but it is  to the east a little.

Oh, I thought it was.  No wonder I got lost in Laconia last week! 8)  I showed Rick some of the places I saw when I was lost in Laconia, (I had a dentist appt.), and he said, "oh my gosh, this is no where near any direction you should've been in."  I always manage to get home though.

One time I got lost in a flea market circus thing, (I think that's what Rick called it).  Rick said stay right here I'm going to get us some drinks, don't move, (he knew how easily I get lost).  I decided to look around, I hate standing still in one place and I ended up pretty lost but eventually Rick found me.  I could tell you so many more funny stories but I won't unless you want to hear any and believe me I understand if you don't.

Thanks Lloyd but I really think it will confuse me more.  I don't mind getting lost as long as it doesn't get dark outside before I get home. :D

Where did you drive yesterday?
Do you want to live between Manchester and Concord?

I drove through Allenstown, Pembroke, Deerfield, Northwood, Candia, Raymond, Derry, Auburn and Hooksett.  I would like to live in between Manchester and Concord because I think there would be more things to do, especially because I'd like to re-homeschool the kids and from what I've read there are a lot of homeschool things going on in these areas.  I could also participate in a lot of stuff you guys/gals do too.

Really we have to move closer to where Rick works that's how this whole talk of moving came up and I wanted opinions of Derry, Hooksett and Auburn from anybody that lives/lived there.

Well, Don's working in MA and our living in Derry is what I WILL change. I have had enough of the traffic and crowds. There ARE some slower paced towns that are still convenient, but I don't want to pay what it costs to buy in the area.

When we drove through Derry yesterday the traffic didn't seem bad but probably because it was a Sunday?  Where are you thinking of going Cathleen?  I did look at the prices of real estate around there, yikes!  I want to live in a slower paced town but closer to more things without having to drive for 20 miles on a back road.   :-\

Derry doesn't seem to fit with the rest of your list.

It is not near the other places.

That's true but it is closer to where Rick works.  If the prices for houses are all as high as the ones online we're going to have to forget about it though.    It's not that far from Manchester but it is pretty far from Concord. :-\

We're just south of Derry (so I am closer to work in MA) - Manchester is 20 minutes away and Concord is about 40 -- not too bad.
