What a horrible criminal...here building illegally  ::)

Lloyd Danforth

Years ago, some of my friends were arrested for criminal tresspass, for a sitdown protest in the Post Office.
The case was thrown out because it didn't meet all of the elements of the crime.  As the PO was open to the public, they, were, invited to be in the PO. and could not be tresspassing.  If I understand what I read, the guy was on a public highway.

The point the Chief was trying to make was, that since he was an illegal alien he did not have permission to be on any land in the US.

The chief is an idiot.  He's not hurting anyone by being here.  Open the borders.

I agree, the borders should be opened.

I understand this, but, it is, clearly, a misuse of laws against trespass.

Yes, after we end the welfare state, and, preferably, the existence of public property.
Oh...Oh..and, after our federal government stops giving crazy foreigners reasos to bomb us.

I agree with what Chief Chamberlain is trying to do.

Until the gummint stops enticing illegal aliens with our tax dollars, I am all for keeping them out.

It's bad enough that citizens and legal immigrants suck up billions of taxpayer dollars, but to allow illegals to do it just adds insult to injury.  Plus, when they commit crimes against citizens' properties (life, liberty...), there is usually no recourse!

Sometimes the perp is caught before they can flee back to their country of origin.  But what kind of restitution can the victims expect?

Open the borders, but close the schools first.

Lloyd Danforth

While I understand the Chief's frustration, I think he should have charged the guy with being in the country ilegally and held him for the feds, billing the feds for each day of incarceration.  He might not get anywhere with that, but, it might have gotten the same press and he would have made his point.  The combination of trespass and Public Property shoud never occur.  Whenever I see the signs: State Property- No Trespassing, it gets my quills up!
We have to do more than just close the schools before we can open the borders.

The fellow actually showed up for his hearing, much to my surprise, and pleaded guilty, according to today's Telegraph.

AlanM

I want the borders open as a means of eliminating all the hand-out programs. If there is too much demand on the system, the tax-payers will revolt, and hopefully end all the freebies.

Hasn't happened yet in Canada or England, and people are dying there.

Now he's changing it:
"Illegal immigrant changes plea on trespass charge

NEW IPSWICH, N.H. (AP) -- A Mexican citizen charged with trespassing because he is an illegal alien has decided to fight the unusual strategy police are using to try to have him deported."
