Yea what do you call those limited access highways that pop up every once in a while here in NH? I never saw a 2 lane road with offramps. :)

Now you have.  Welcome Home!

They should have had "yep you betcha" much better test for upper midwest. 8)
If you put  8) symbols in posts you just might be a southern californian.
If you laugh at a little snow...you just might be a NH yankee:)
If your town has a common and a traffic circle...you just might be a yankee

? What I really want to know is what is the deal with the night before Halloween; is there a holiday I'm missing out on??

All Hallow's Eve. Very important to the druids.

I believe "All Hallows' Eve", "Hallowe'en" and "Samhain" are all on the 31st.? The night before is "Mischief Night", or "Devil's Night", which you may remember from "The Crow".

From http://halloween.monstrous.com/halloween_origins.htm

In some areas, October 30 (one day before Halloween) is still called Mischief Night, and vandalism often reaches dangerous levels. In Detroit, Michigan, Mischief Night?known there as Devil's Night?provided the occasion for waves of arson that sometimes destroyed whole city blocks during the 1970s and 1980s.

Maybe it was someone from "North of the Notches" wanting to know if you were a flatlander from Southern NH.  ;D

I don't think I have actually heard "ahuy" said yet........I am still enjoying the newness of frequent "wicked" references here in NH. 8)
I wonder if I am loosing any of the SoCal phrases I picked up yet.

I still say silly things like......like

AlanM

Ahuy?
No wonder you haven't heard it.

Ayuh, it's been quite a while since I heard anyone say "ahuy". There was one old timer, French he was, used to say it now and agin'. Course his English wasn't the best, but he was a good ole felluh. Ayuh.
