Well the solution to that conundrum, of course, is to abolish the state.

Yes . . .but we're not there yet.  We need a solution in the meantime.

And in an anarchistic world of all private property, in which I don't own any, where can I go to exercise my common individual right of freedom of speech which I had as a natural right prior to the state and prior to private property?

That's the question I've been tossing around in my head all day.  In a world with no public and all private property, how does one exercise freedom of speech?  I guess you could practice it in your living room (if you own property) but outside of your own property, you would have to receive "approval" to practice free speech anywhere else.  And if what you are saying disturbs someone else, they will quickly revoke your right to free speech (and maybe tase you).  Interesting situation.

QuoteIf he resists arrest what should they do?

Gee Ethan, maybe 7 cops could have figured something out huh???? Lets see...tackle him, hold him down, handcuff him, (ankles and  wrists) and what would have Andrew done? Hmm??

The next thing the gooncops could have done was to simply say "ok Andrew stand up".

At this point Ol Andrew has a choice: he could stand up and walk out or lay there and be carried out by the 6 or 7 goons. Pretty simple.

Done deal.

I don't often hear people talking about citizens who shot out-of-control cops and saying, "well, what did the cop expect?  He was giving an attitude to the citizen, and refused to limit himself to his legally-authorized jurisdiction and just authority.  If he would have just done what he was supposed to, he wouldn't have gotten shot."

You heard that (at least around here) when that grandmother down in Atlanta shot at the narcotics officer in that no-knock raid; at least one cop was convicted of manslaughter.  And there's that case up in Franconia of the kid shooting the cop, where not everyone in the public rushed to the defense of that cop.

QuoteI still don't see how this kid's question was an infringement on anyone's "equal right" aside from his alleged shoving to the front of the line.

It is called "monopolizing the floor" so that others can't speak - just like only one person can stand in one place at a time, only one person can speak at a time.

There are a variety of infringements including shouting others down, having long-winded prefaces and asking multiple questions.

I have no interest in discussing Georgism.

We are discussing common rights which are individual equal rights.

I find this hard to believe...  ::)

It is called a "hypothetical". Something libertarians always do to test the validity of a premise.

Oh I forgot. You have no understanding of the libertarian philosophy or it's fundamental tenet.

Aloha, Fuzz, all that proves is that Kerry knew how to play the situation.  He let the heavies do their job while he got to be the good guy.  Even people who otherwise think he is pretty evil -- raise your taxes, supports the war in Iraq, support socialism -- are on his side.  The dude's a politician, and a pretty good one at times.

Where did I write that I support Kerry?

Yes . . .but we're not there yet.  We need a solution in the meantime.
Why, simple:
1) Get people who love and value Freedom to concentrate in one state
2) Let all those people work however they see fit to reduce the size and scope of the State
3) Profit!!

I have pondered over taking that route. It is a real nice way to vanish.  taxes? sorry, I am homeless.

Living on a boat has some advantages too.

You wouldn't owe any taxes in NH this way.

Very perceptive. What about the "right of ways" which are contained within our roads and sidewalks? They are common rights too (individual equal rights).

Socialism has no validity.

Define your use of the term "socialism". Or is it another concept like libertarianism that you pontificate about without knowing what it is?
