I won't rain on your parade.

I have a really good idea.  We get Bill to start making beer again.

You could bug Bill about starting to home brew beer again.

You'll have to help him of course.

Fortunately it has to sit around in bottles before it is beer.  Otherwise with Pat helping it might not ever get into bottles

What The F*ck.
I started this topic re: solar water heating & you hop-heads morphed it into beer making?
(just when you thought I was gone......)

BEER is a type of solar heat. We biologically turn the biomass into warmth. Maybe whiskey or vodka would be more efficient in the Shire though.

The forum and group that uses it is the Shire.
I am a NH Native.

Since I was thinking more of a bath tub concoction... I don't think NH would like it.

There's a Yahoo list called simplyoffgrid that I've just subscribed to. They posted a warning that it's a "chatty" list, though, so I definitely set it to "digest" mode.

Hello. I took the plunge awhile back and now we are off grid making Solar Electric Power in New Hampshire, will be looking to upgrade my Solar Hot water project from last summer which was an effective but primitive batch type heater.   I'd love to see a home made working setup of Solar Hot water supplemented with a wood stove connection... gravity feed would be really cool.
Done some reading but before I make my own
it would be great to see one working. I want to make sure I've got all the right pressure relief stuff set up on any wood stove hot water set up...getting blown up by a steam burst could ruin an otherwise nice day.

Go to the Mother Earth News forum and ask DavisonH, he's running an outdoor wood boiler down around the Keene area. He's very knowledgable in this area.
