I think John has the boxing gloves already.  I'd buy tickets.

Alright I checked to see what's available and for the moment there are no viable HC38's at an acceptable price, but I will keep looking to see when one comes on the market.  Alternatively if you want me to have more options that might let me move faster, I can probably buy an HC28:

It is slightly different from yours but is compatible and is the same make/model as mine.  The advantages are it's smaller and apparently more durable, it matches with your battery and charger.  I  think it's less likely also to have that defect yours had where the viewscreen was sometimes tricky to open and close. The disadvantage is it does not have the built-in lens cap.  I don't know of any other advantages or disadvantages after using both, but conceivably I could be missing something.  I don't know if your model had a light fixture but mine does not.   As I recall you didn't have a light so maybe this is not an issue.

I do have some boxing gloves but they have nothing at all to do with this. Maybe I'll explain that elswere at some other time.  :)

Maybe that is best since that is the camera, and then I can never look back wondering ...
I'm in no hurry.

Alright I will be checking back with ebay roughly once a week to see what new sales are available.
