I like the DofInd idea ..... we could build it up for a while and then do it on 7/4.:)

How about if we call a convention, like the Continental Congress, to be held in a public place, so we can get publicity.

We can do rabble rousing in Keene and elsewhere, but then hold a big convention somewhere public. Well we could hold that here also .... just a longer drive for some.

I think just re-enacting the creation of the original DoI and emphasizing on the important parts, such as why we seceded and why it was the right thing to do. This can be presented in a way that will make it very easy for people to correlate the actions of the British to the now current Federal Government. And, hopefuly, they will make the connection that we have to secede today as well.

If the goal is to gain more people to have NH become Independant then burn is not the way to go.

If someone is angered by a flag burning then they are certainly no friends of freedom. Since when did freedom lovers become exclusively US flag lovers?

I disagree.  "You're either with us, or you're no friend of freedom" ? Hey, isn't that almost exactly what Bush said about people who opposed Iraq II?   :P

For the record, I think flag burning is ugly. It's why I have chosen to not attend either of the two UN Flag Burns. Sorry, Lloyd, but it's looking like I'm never going to make it to your birthday party.  :'(  I think burning a U.S. flag would be far worse.

Lex

I have to side with those against burning the flag. I don't think it will get us anywhere.

I think our goal should be to secede from the Federal Government not aggress against them. Let them have their flag. Let them remove the NH star off their flag, why should we do it for them?

I think ignoring them and living peacefuly is a more practical and better approach than to burn things.

Darn!  Actually, Sandy,  the UN Flag burnings have brought good or neutral response.  I don't think that would be true of burning a US flag.

As exciting and outrageous as burning the US flag might be, we really should ensure we're communicating effectively.  Burning a UN flag communicates pretty effectively.  Burning the US flag will just make people angry, as they will not take the time to bother to understand why you are burning it.

What is this "we" stuff?

You could always burn the constitution instead.

So, Kevin, what do you think of the alternate idea of cutting out one star and one stripe?  I, personally, am coming around to that idea.  It's VERY good at explaining exactly what we want, without all the emotional drama connected to burning it.

I did think of an alternative. How about pinning black mourning ribbons over the other 49 stars?

Alternatively, start with a Betsy Ross flag, and mourn the other 12.

Hey guys, just a bit curious? ???  Keene is one of the 2 or 3 most socialist cities in NH, and thats a fact! >:D

Cool go burn a flag, go get arrested at the airport, go promote session...but hey guys, your own neighbor is going down the drain while you attempt to save the world?

Forgive me, but thinking results should be what we are about.  Making our own communites freer first, then taking on the world.

So hey???  Perhaps I am missing something? :BangHead:
