Is someone going to broadcast info about the trial to the NH Announce lists?

cathleeninnh

Russell's posting on page 9 of this thread says the trial is on the 1st of June at 8:15am.

When and where is the trial on Wednesday? In the morning? I need to know please.
If I tell you again you have to fast in sackcloth and ashes. :)
It should be in 301 at 8:15.

Michael Fisher

Okay, I thought the trial was in two days. :o

Thanks for the info.

"Must the citizen ever for a moment, or in the least degree, resign his conscience to the legislator? Why has every man a conscience then? I think that we should be men first, and subjects afterward. It is not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right. The only obligation which I have a right to assume is to do at any time what I think right."

Nice quote. Who said it?

I forgot about a court date today. They scheduled a hearing because we are both using the same lawyer. I didn't really want to go, so I must have put it out of my mind.

The lawyer called from court this morning upset that we didn't show. He told us that the judge may issue a warrant for our arrest. He also is tired of my attitude, since I told him I didn't want to run to Manchester today. We shall see.

The idea of having an outstanding warrant for her arrest is laying heavy on Kat's heart. She is trying to plan how to take care of Kira if they haul us in. :(

It will be so silly if they take us to jail over this.

PErhaps somebody could record it and podcast it?

Russell, I don't remember you ever mentioning this court date. We might have reminded you of it.

Actually, I feel like reprimanding you for accepting a lawyer without your heart being in it. Given your stance on authority, I would have thought it would be a decision worthy of gravity and soul searching.

Mother mode still on, of course Kira is always welcome.
Peace to you both.

Yea .... I didn't mind the paperwork help from the lawyer. I wasn't looking at it as giving into some immoral authority.

I thought the lawyer was going to get rid of this court date, but I guess he couldn't. I didn't look to see what it was about.

We signed paperwork that allowed him to represent us. I considered that enough. The court is trying to help us...and they might punish us if we don't show up for their "help".

AlanM

This is what the State is. Arresting you for excercising your free speech rights, which they are sworn to up-hold. Then they have their silly bureaucratic power plays, holding hearings they make you take time out of your life to attend. If you don't attend, bingo, a warrant for your arrest. It is all power, nothing more.
The courts are simply part of the power structure. Those who think the courts somehow protect their rights are sadly mistaken.

AlanM

Kat, Russell and Cathleen,
I will chip in $ for the care of Kira. Letus help you!

I should have been a lawyer.
