gawd, celticdreemer... karma to you for putting up with that crapola.

if I ever have children someday, I'd like to think I'd home/unschool them... give them a better shot than I had.

[Edit] - oops! liberty ladies forum!?

You're required to wear a dress while posting here, though, eques.

I almost hate to give you the challenge, but I'm highly tempted to say:

"Find a dress in my size, then."

*lives in fear of the next porc meet* :o

Somehow I doubt there'll even be enough fabric for it to qualify as a "dress" or even a "mini"!

I have been giving some serious thought about homeschooling my kids again too. I joined the FSP homeschool group and asked alot of questions but no one answered them, it seems like a slow forum, I don't know.
I live in Grafton County and want to make sure the kids can have social activities too but can't seem to find to much info on it.
Jane gave me a contact awhile back I 'll have to find it and ask her directly.
Then I got a message from someone name JigglyPuff and she had some info but was only a guest on this board and I have no way of contacting her.  Here was what she wrote me:

Hi-
We are homeschoolers with 5 kids: 4 boys 9,5,3,1 and 1 8yo daughter. We have always homeschooled. I would recommend using a private school to report to. I use Tri City Christian Academy, I'm not really a Christian, but that doesn't matter. It is $40 per student, $120 max.
If you want the contact info, just let me know.

My questions are if I use a private school to report to do I need to file an intent to homeschool form for the board of Ed every year?  Also how does this affect the mandatory tests that I need an evalutor for?  Does this get me out of the red tape of the state's regulations?

Usually finding other homeschoolers is pretty easy. Just find your local homeschool support group and start hanging around. I know in So. NH there are so many homeschoolers that you could be busy every day with group activities.

http://www.nhhomeschooling.org/ is a good resource and http://nhhr.dimentech.com/orgnh.html has a statewide e-mail list that you can sign up for.

Between Dawn, Kat and I we can probably answer any technical questions, but the above sites are very comprehensive.

Good Luck with your decision.

No, you do not need to contact the public schools unless you are withdrawing your kids from them. Tri-City is very homeschool and privacy friendly. If you use tests, you just send the results to Tri-City. If you use a portfolio you will need an evaluator. We have zero contact with government schools and just an annual check and the test sent to Tri-City.
