When Russell was in "max", all they would give him of that nature was paper.  Stamps are a no-go.

I believe melanie now holds the all time NHfree.com record for highest karma-to-post-count ratio...

she's at 6 to one.

my ratio is considred above average at

0.1 to 1

LOL

Great work Melanie.  I dont' have the patience to do anything more than go to their office or just call them and ask a question or two.

I would have asked how the counselor knows anything if Lauren is not talking?

I hope I am fast approaching the best negative karma per post ratings...

Quotewhat if the corp. who took over that neighborhood had offered each of the 15 "holdout" families a brand-new, 2000 sq. ft. house, within two miles of their original home site, and paid all their temporary housing expenses while constructing the new homes?  I mean, if that economic development corporation wanted to truly help the citizens of New London, why not just give the holdouts a free house, and let them pay the higher taxes the city wanted, but not saddle them with a mortgage?  I wonder how many homeowners would have gone for that.  I mean, if a corp. says they want to "help the people", maybe they could have helped these specific people in this very direct way.

I would have settled for a % of the "rent" in the form of property taxes on the new complex as an annual income and retired on an island.

Judge Kevin P. McMahon, CT Superior Court, G.A. 10, New London, CT

I've lost the contact info.

wait here it is:

112 Broad Street
New London, CT 06320
(860) 443-8343
(860) 437-1168

that first number apparently goes to an office that is him and one other judge.

Dan

Wow Mel,  Thanks.  That was above and beyond my small call to duty.

Whoever sent mail to Lauren from "Shorty Dawkins" with my address - it looks like the jail opened it and returned to sender.  What would you like me to do with it?

Kat Kanning

Oh I opened the card that was rejected and there was a form from the jail.  It says it was rejected for an unidentified substance on the card.  It looks like they gave her the pictures that were with it.  Maybe I can clean off the cement and resend it.

After the anthrax scare, some jails and prisons started rejecting mail with any evidence of a foreign substance, including perfumed letters, etc. Some also reject scented mail because it can be used to mask drugs, if they use detection dogs.

I will not offer any excuses for York CI, after what I've read about them. But I will point out the above as a possible explanation. The form should have been more explicit, but it's probably just checkboxes filled out by someone opening thousands of pieces of mail every day.

My mail to Lauren was returned unopened today. I'm not entirely sure why, since there was no cement on the paper...

Kat Kanning

Hmm...bummer.  I've sent her mail every day and had none returned.  You had her inmate number on it?

Oh yes, of course. This really pisses me off.

Maybe it was the S.W.A.F. you had on the back.  You know.  Sealed With A File.  ;)
