That's what the Porc411 messages tonight are saying. I can't find a thread on this already, and I'm surprised. Apologies if I missed it. Looks like it happened near 107. I don't know the area. Just thought I'd post and see if anyone else knew anything.

Just got home; was about to post about this. Most recent message, from Zim himself, received at 01:20:33 –04:00 (30 minutes ago):—

Hey, everybody, this is Zim and Mike. We're heading back to Seabrook; I was arrested for having a keg—we had like one of these little mini-kegs in here and they said it was open so they busted me for that because it was on the floor by my feet. And also because I had a handgun with the clip in the chamber—the clip was in the gun. That's basically why they freaked out. So I just have to go to court—everything's fine; I'm out, but I just wanted to let everybody know in case you're trying to get down here. Thanks.

First message from Zim about being pulled over near the 107...

Second message, transcript of Zim speaking with Officer Joe Keating of the Raymond PD...
Cop sounds like he asked Zim to take his gun out himself, Zim said "I'm not going to reach for a gun, okay?"...
Cut off right after cop identifies himself...

Third message from Mike Moore about arrest...
"Transporting a loaded firearm" was the reason for arrest...
He said that you can call him at +1.405.308.9731...

Fourth message from Mike Moore again, just asking people to call him again...

Fifth message from Zim, transcribed in previous post.

I had a nightmare yesterday morning that some people were planning to kill me and loot me and then plant a gun on me and claim I pulled it on them.

Local authorities  issue permits for carrying concealed and, loaded in a car.  Zim probably hasn't applied for one yet.

Ah, I just moved her so I don't think I know Zim.  When I moved here I had a non-ressie permit and was told it was valid until my ressie was available (glad I didn't have to find out the hard way if that was true or not).  I hope it isn't a felon for carrying concealed without a permit.

I'm glad there wasn't incarceration.

We do need to get the idea that a loaded gun in a car is "concealed" removed from the laws. Seems pretty stupid to have to unload your gun before getting in a car, just to reload it right after getting out. Especially bad with revolvers.

Unfortunately you need to take that up with NH Hunting and Fishing/wildlife groups.  I think it is about as likely as VT allowing suppressors.  Both laws were put in place to prevent people from hunting from their cars and poaching.  There *is* I think an exception for handicap.

So, if you get a concealed carry permit you can hunt from your car?!?!

Lex! The government doesn't work on logic!

There actually is a sort of logic to it.

The fish and game laws prohibit you from carrying loaded long guns in your cars, period. The CCW license doesn't affect this.

The carrying of a pistol or revolver in a vehicle is considered "concealed" because it basically is—even if you're open carrying on your hip, from the perspective of anyone outside the vehicle, that's not particularly visible. The way around this that some people have employed is to "open carry" the pistol in the vehicle, but unloaded, with the loaded magazine in a pocket. This creates the interesting visual of a person slamming a magazine into a gun as they step out of their car—certainly something you want to be seen doing as you walk into a bank, or a convenience store at 02:00 in the morning, right?

I've HAD it. . . the fucking Brooker cops need a taste of what people see in Manchester and Keene with Porcupines coming to each other's defense. . .or at the very least to videotape it.

how does one sign up for Porc 411. . . if I seem angry about it, it's because I was on the 107 twice last night and would have loved to help out.
