Jim and I are taking the van.  We can pick up 6 or 8 more people in Keene.

Count me in!

Russell Kanning

this is for both Charlie and Jesse right?

So what are you guys gunna do?

Coconut

Good job Ian.
Court phone answerers never know anything, however, she sounded more informed than any of the ladies I talk to in Keene.

However, why the F do we have to answer so many minute questions about recording? It's not (shouldn't be) a case-by-case decision. Cameras are allowed, or not. When will this bullS hoop jumping end?

As for what they're doing, Russell, too bad nobody knows.

FTL_Ian

That was the clerk - she's in charge of the whole operation, so she's playing dumb.

I can't speak for Charlie, but I'm going to go in dressed better than the prosecutor, take a seat, and play it by ear. Given that no statute actually exists for wearing a hat in court, they're going to have to let it go.

Dave Ridley

even if you dont want to associate with jesse for some reason remember charlie is on trial and charged for much less.... he is the big  story here i think since he never even entered the courtroom.

Proper attire is required via statute left up to the discretion of the judge as to what is proper (no hats) in their courtrooms.

will you have a fancy hat on? ;) what if he is in a tux?
It is also possible they will just want to  drop it ... who knows.

Jesse,

Is that your angle, that there is no "law"?

Bizarre.

I thought you didn't respect the judge and so this was a form of protest.

That seems good enough and principled, right?

She would either "punish" you for not following her rules, or

punish you for not agreeing with her line of work, essentially.

Just a thought.

My angle will continue to be a moral one-- my point in regards to the "law" is that because no law exists, I doubt I'm facing a fine or jail time, so the worst that could happen is a slap on the wrist. I'll be polite and simply inform that I don't believe in honorifics or condone acts of subservience.

Also-- I have Bill Kaufman blocked. Did he say anything worth caring about, or was it more apologia for the State?

No. Pants, shoes, jacket, shirt, tie. Elegant and simplistic.

I get the idea they want to-- they offered Charlie and I the option to plea "no contest" and just do "time served", which leads me to believe that they know none of this will stick.

how could it possibly be important? I live happily ignorant of most of his  posts.

I detest the state but see it as different than "local governance as legitimate, non-arbitrary, authority".

The van to Millford arrives in Keene at 9am.
Stopping at Sam A Robrin's place,
and at Ian's place,
and Dalebert's place.
It will be a full load.
