The pres did indeed have a good time traveling with Big Daddy at the wheel of the Coyote Bus... :D

Very nice turnout at the court, with about 25 friendly people in attendance... I think the bailiffs must have had a OMFG moment when we just kept piling in... I found it very interesting that the question of whether or not to stand when the judge entered the Star Chamber was rendered moot because the judge was already in court, seated up on high when they let us in.  I suppose the idea of having to arrest that many people for not standing just didn't sit too well with the powers that be.  >:D

At one point, laughter erupted in the courtroom when one of the goobermint witnesses thugs (a retired DOC Masshole) testified that he had to handcuff Charlie to stop him from being a danger to himself and others...  ::)  I tell you, you just can't make this stuff up.  Where do they find these clowns?

they don't like when you laugh at them huh?

Josh

The lack of an "all rise" moment could be due to the fact that this was a special justice, or whatever, and maybe not technically an 'honorable' bureaucrat. Not sure.

Just out of curiosity,

are the judges/magistrates elected by the people, or are they appointed by the local/county/state governments?

J...

(still living in NJ, must like the punishment)

Good thing the Pres was there!  Probably kept you from getting into trouble ;D

Spoilsport!

I believe when we all left between the two trials, they did say all rise.  We were all already getting up and leaving, so it wasn't real noticeable in all the commotion.

I really wish he'd have his freedoms back and that cop who beat him up lost his. . . .  I'm really pissed by this.  No, I don't look at it as a good outcome.

Neither do I, and if I thought there was the barest chance of a court paying attention either to the truth or to justice, I'd suggest a false arrest suit.
The notes I was making refer to "LOBBY TAPES!!!," and I'd like to see those if they could be subpoenaed, but I suspect it would end up like the scene in Woody Allen's Bananas when the court clerk reads back the record.

Oh, it was amusing when Jesse called Dale to the stand.  Dale had to explain what he did for a living.  After the questions were done, the judge was all interested in Dale's comic strips :)

What questions did he ask?

Did he ask him about social contract theory?

The judge was seated when we entered, but when he called for a recess before Charlie's trial, a bailiff did say "rise please" instead of the more familiar, "all rise", and most of us pointedly stayed seated, myself included. That was the only opportunity to express our free speech in this manner, displaying honest lack of respect for a corrupt court system. When we returned, he was already seated. They handled it the same way at Mike's arraignment. Mrs. Crocker was already seated when we were called in and remained seated as we left. Very interesting. I think it was a protocol implemented specifically for dealing with us and our blasted free speech.

In case you haven't seen it, here is the Nashua Telegraph article about the recent trials.

Tom Sawyer

I have been having fun coming up with the captions to go along with the photos.

That is the horrible young man who terrified the court by not removing his hat!
