Oh look, the FSP accomplished something again!

QuoteFSP Restructuring Announcement delayed: The Board of Directors has not yet determined which changes to the FSP structure should be pursued, if any. We have worked at length to resolve these questions, taking into account the extensive feedback we received from participants and friends, but will be unable to announce any decisions by October 1st.

;D

Doug just e-mailed me.  He said signage and flags will be very important for this event.  Please bring your own signs and freedom-oriented flags!  :)

Amanda disputes the reporter's take on her conversation with him...

The FSP is constantly in dispute with reporters.

The FSP's neutrality is a complete media and public relations disaster for everyone involved or affiliated with it.

I TOTALLY agree with you Mike.......... When the FSP was going for 501 (c)3, I could see it. But as soon as that was turned down, they should have said "Fine! We're taking positions" - at least to an extent......... I mean, I don't think that the FSP itself should be endorsing candidates in every race, but for gawd's sakes! When you hae a pro-liberty position that is back by 98% of the public, TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Good point Russ...........

And if she was creating such a commotion outside the chambers, wouldn't you have thought that Joplin would have noticed?

Exactly.

The media hates the FSP because it's impossible to talk about it without being attacked or corrected for printing inaccuracies. ?Even if a reporter said "the FSP opposes the murder of babies", I think they would write a letter correcting the reporter, saying the FSP does not oppose murdering babies.

The FSP spends more time correcting reporters than explaining stories. ?They write letters of correction to the editor rather than letters of opinion. ?If I were in the media, I would refuse to report on any organization that acted this way.

Imagine if everywhere the media writes "an effort to move 20,000 people", they would instead write "a movement to bring people to New Hampshire who believe everyone should be free to do whatever they want as long as they do not harm others." ?The media only reports the neutral "20,000" garbage because they're forced to by the FSP.

The media loves the NH Underground because we're open, honest, straightforward, helpful, and respectful. ?Organizations that do not adapt to the media's wants and needs will be darwinized. ?They will quickly cease to exist.

We've had reporters take our press releases and print them in their entirety. ?Other reporters have taken quotes and pictures from our forums. ?NOT ONCE have we ever asked a reporter to separate the actions of our members from our organization. ?They see that type of request as dishonest positioning, which it usually is.

If a reporter takes someone's most extreme quotes about violence and uses them, then we ask that person to help us write a letter to the editor backing off from the quotes. ?If they don't, only then will we write our own letter saying the person does not represent us. ?We might also do this if someone claims they're representing us who clearly isn't. ?These situations are extremely rare to the NH Underground, and this has only happened ONCE before. ?But that type of correction is a daily occurrence with the FSP which disowns all of its members.

it is because you anarchists have been duped by the FSP president...kinda like libertarians within the Republicn Party.

they need you to be part of the 20K but can't promote anarchism because they will need to build a majority political party to take state power to roll the state back.

kinda like the communists saying we need the uber state before it can actually wither away...yeah right.

tracysaboe

You know, for the most part I've liked the FSP. I've basically just ignored negative comments you guys have made about it because for the most part I thought they were doing there part, and 2ndly, at this point, they're a bit irrelevent.

But that statement by Ammanda ticks me off.

The STATED GOAL of the FSP is to cut government by 2/3rds. How are we supposed to do that if we don't make a stand against emminent domain. I mean, in California that's what the government USES now, that it's not allowed to raise property taxes, it just out-right steals stuff. So, OK the government spends only about a third less then it used to, but steals property right and left? That's OK? Come-on! Of COURSE the FSP should be against emminent domain. The FSP believes the minimal role of government is PROTECTION of property, and emminent domain is clearly at odds with that.

Frankly, IMNSHO, is she says the FSP doesn't have a position on emminent domain, she needs to go back and reread the statement of intent, because not being against emminent domain is clearly in contradiction with that stated goal.

2ndly, WHY are they distancing themselves from this? They should be jumping on it, and doing shadow ads, and "This sort of thing won't happen in New Hampshire." and "These are the types of activists in NH that will protect your property when you come to New Hampshire." and whatever.

That's what I see this as. Lauran, by leading through example and what she believes is indirectly recruiting people for the FSP.

What's wrong with her. Doesn't Ammanda say she's an anarchist? Wouldn't she want to attract radical minarchists and anarchists, and anti-emminent domain types into the FSP?

They're got such ah BIG TENT over their now, that it seems like the 20,000 people won't be much different from the current population.

I'm going to move to NH for that? I don't know about the rest of you, but when I move to NH I want to be working with 20,000 people who believe emminent domain is evil, taxes are evil, and government is evil (perhaps a neccessary one in the words of Payne, but evil nevertheless.). I don't want those 20,000 people to be run of the mill liberventionists, war-mongering conservatives (now their's an oxy-moron) etc.

Pretty soon Amanda's going to be welcoming communists with open arms.

OK, end rant.

Russell Kanning

I agree.

Maybe we are now called "unrepresentative participants"
