How does this look?

I have recently learned that the Keene Police frequently stop pedestrians and demand to search their backpacks. They are trying to crack down on underage drinking, so if they find any alcohol on your person then they demand government ID proving that you are of legal drinking age. When did these police state tactics begin? I find this behavior completely unacceptable from supposed "public servants".

In order to take back our liberties, a Keene State group is planning a backpack freedom event on September 9th starting at 7pm. Students for Free Minds and Free Markets will be enjoying an evening of partying up and down main street proudly carrying their backpacks with bright green ribbons attached to proclaim their freedom. Many backpacks will contain alcohol. Many participants will refused to be searched or to produce government ID. We will be openly drinking on the street or at sidewalk tables that night.

My family will be joining them even though we do not consume alcohol often and have never been hassled by cops in this way. We need to start taking back territory from the police state and we will start with the main street. Downtown Keene is a "Tyranny Free Zone" from this time forth. Saturday night the 9th will be just the beginning. Sometimes you do have to fight for your right to party.

The college group will have an information table set up by the Students Center on 9/7 from 11am-3pm to answer questions about this event and their group. Look for David or Toby. You can also contact us here at the Keene Free Press. Come join us on Saturday night and take back our liberties. Look for the bright green ribbons tied to our bags.

Sounds a little awkward.  Maybe "will refused to allow searches to take place ..."

or "will refused to be searched or to ..." would be better.

I'm planning to take the next bar exam in NH (February 2007) -- although it is not my idea of fun to take another bar exam.

That'll give me a second chance in July 2007 to take it and still get to NH toward the end of 2007.

Long answer to a simple question.

So, I'll be the first to ask. . . . Have you signed the 1st 1000 pledge yet?

;D ;D ;D

Any other changes needed? I will send this to the city/college/police soon.

I was slow motion shambling. Some of the music was good.
I had many good conversations and handed out some papers. I love downtown Keene.

I originally but in just my family to bring up the point that we will be supporting them even though we don't really drink. I don't know how I can say my friends don't consume alcohol often .... I know PatK ....  and some of my friends have been hassled in this way.
Maybe we should leave in the part about joining them, but leave out the extra.
