After a week of joining someone has been smiting me on a daily basis. I think there is someone who does this to every single person he/she comes across and my feeling it is to mess with our heads.

That's nothing.  The forum moderator smited me with -35 for a single post.

Hey, here's an idea.
For a while, we saw more detail here about people's karma rating right . . .
Wouldn't it be neat to see more detail about how people use their applaud and smite buttons?  As in what percentage do folks applaud vs. how often they hit smite.
Might be interesting?

One would find that I randomly give + karma to people I like for no particular reason.

How do you know it is the forum moderator and how can they do -35 in one day from one post?

The only thing I'd like to know is, which post was it that somebody dinged me for?  Sure, knowing the applauds would be nice, too.  I don't care to know who it was that upped or downed me, and I think that'd cause far more trouble than simply knowing which post it was.

Another enhancement would be a short explanation why, but, er, that's what the "reply" button is for.
