Progress is happening.  I saw Bill the other day and I didn't start crying.  I'm starting to get back to my old self.  I'm still coming across people who don't know.  This is awkward.  Sometimes I think this will never end.  Now if I can just the motivation to clean up my apartment and finish the projects I've started.

My comment was a direct response to your telling Kate that, if she doesn't already have another man yet, she might want to think about working on her own physical attractiveness.

Pardon me, friend, but I didn't say "physical."  I said attractiveness.  That covers everything that makes a person attractive: sense of humor, positive outlook, depth of intellect, range of personal interests.  if you want to deny that attractiveness attracts, you may as well deny that light illuminates.

It might mean working on making yourself more attractive.  You can take a rigorously scientific approach to this that will get results.  What that means exactly will depend on who you are, but whoever you are there's room for improvement.

I've always been working on myself.  I'm not the most beautiful woman in the world and I don't care.  Really I don't.  What I do care about is how I live my life and what I do with it.  I don't want ever stop moving forward with my life.  I'm not a sit around and do nothing type of person.  I always want to learn new things.  My biggest problem living up here is there is too much to do and not enough time.

As far your advice goes
I'm not known for my sense of humor, it is on the dry side but it is easy to get me to laugh. That will never change. 
My positive out look is returning.  How could it not.  I'm living in New Hampshire surrounded by good friends who do all sorts of neat stuff.  I hit the ground running when I moved here.  I've been learning all sorts of new stuff and new skills. 
Aside from the broken heart I'm happier living in New Hampshire than I've been anywhere in my life. 

Right now I'm not worried about finding another boyfriend.  I want finish this grieving process as fast as possible so I can figure out what I want to do with my life.  For the last 13 years all of my plans, dreams and goals took Bill into consideration.  Now it is just me and I need figure out what I want.

I'm not discounting myself.  I know I'm cute.  I also know the Ford Modeling Agency isn't ever going to offer me a contract.  Physical beauty is something a lot of people care too much about.  I'm more interested in being a person that people want to be around.  I could spend 10 hours a week in the gym, be a very picky eater, spend a fortune on my skin and hair and look great.  I would rather go shooting, gardening, hiking, build or make something, eat good food, hang out and chat with friends than spend all of my free time working on how I look.  I do make an effort to look nice but I'm not going to spend hours a day on how I look.
Other than the recent emotional ride I've been on with this break up I happen to like the person that I am.  I have worked very hard to be a happy, motivated person who spends time on the things I care about.
