Look...i always think this but never say it...but I hope those of you on each side will hear it and do it.

Gandhi always tried to fight evil systems without disliking the people behind them.? He was not against individuals.

Same with us...we need to fight for and against systems but we need to not let ourselves dislike each other.?

I really like Kate and Adam even tho I am on the opposite side of this debate with them sometimes; Amanda is a blast to be around and argue with, I like Don Gorman who I never agree with on method and heck I can even tolerate the Seth Lord himself!? ?As long as we don't let it get too personal, we will benefit from fighting!? ?Where we lose is where we get angry with each other.? Kat you are just too quick to get angry at folks who don't 100% see it your way. Usually you are right in the FSP context, but you're letting it get too personal.? the same could be said for many of us.? Just have fun !

I agree.

If we can create a competing organization, it will help recruit through national press releases and it will also improve the original FSP. ?Competition does that. ?This is about systems and methods, not people, though we must hold individuals accountable for their mistakes while avoiding anger.

If anger is our source, our destination will be undesirable.

I don't see the benefit of paying someone like Amanda who has a full time job/is going to school as well.
Amanda quit her full time job so she could attend Harvard.

Does anyone know if Elaine(Amanda's daughter) is living with Amanda?

I believe according to something I read somewhere on the internet, that Elaine does live with Amanda, and visits her dad in the summer.

Many of the people who post here don't vote Jane.? I don't know why.

It's a shame because I thought the FSP chose NH due to the accessibility of government: running for office, connecting with legislators who are your 'neighbors' and mine, and of course just the physical proximity and lack of red tape to get into the statehouse itself.

I don't see why we can't tolerate all methods of change, and that includes the normal avenues that Gorman uses, and the abnormal methods which basically raise awareness.

For example, did you know that right now our excellent Rep Barbara Hagan has several bills which will allow NH to drop many taxes for individuals and businesses? Instead of wasting time yapping our mouths off here, we should be contacting the other Reps she needs to support her in this effort. I monitor this board because I know there are many dedicated souls here who would jump at the chance to help.

One less tax might translate to more people for NH who can sustain the goal of reduction of government, which is the DIRECTION in which we want to be headed, n'est ce pas???

If you also want to give free manicures in your spare time, that's fine too. ?:D

Agreed.

But I think that CD has a role.  In fact I think a one two punch is often the best.
CD to raise awareness and cause awareness followed up by some legislation.
Can you send me the legislation on this  'excellent Rep Barbara Hagan' for lowering taxes?
I will send some emails off.

Individuals voted for New Hampshire to be chosen and we all had different reasons for it. ?Some of us here today did not even choose New Hampshire. ?I chose New Hampshire because it's the freest place I could find. ?Others may have chosen the state for its structure of government.

As individuals, we choose to use certain methods and tolerate others. ?That's how we work together so well. ?;) ?Certain methods are not acceptable to me, but I tolerate most methods of change.

This is the forum where people blasted the idea of politicking on the political subforum. ?Your mileage may vary. ?The NHLA is designed to be far more political, but their forums don't get much in the way of traffic as of yet.

It's good to hear that you feel this way.

Our plan is working perfectly.  You are turning to the dark side!   >:D

The board and officers can draw checks to cover expenses.
Come on that is not the same as getting a salary.

Tolstoy puts me to sleep.
I used to have to read it in Russian in college.
Give me Chekhov!
Give me Gogol!

Russell Kanning

How about essays.... in English? :)

My grandma read War and Peace to me in Russian once and that's the most reading I've ever done in Russian :-)

I can read in Russian, just not very well.

It's an ugly language though...

Coming from a Ukranian I would expect that answer. ;)
