Good idea...but best done here in NH!  When you moving?

I knew it was only a matter of time before you poked me in the ribs. Jab accepted.  ;D  I'll call you tomorrow night on-air to discuss it.

you are correct re: insurance requirements (which MUST be changed). My mistake...
But...you're splitting hairs here...
Like I said...pick your battles..

I won't be doing what Lauren does. But I will support her all the way.

Why should insurance be required by the state? If it was required then all you get is higher prices and poor people having one more fee to pay. Laws never solve anything. There will still be people that would not have insurance. On the same point, I have insurance b/c I want to. That's what I call freedom.

It was fun today.
We visited the court for a while .... Kat spent some time inside ... the bureaucrats tried to hide from Ian.
We put up a sign along hwy101. Did we get the right place Jim?
We held signs outside the jail in Manchester. I tried to get some info from the jail, but noone could speak on the record. I will have to set up an interview with the guy in charge for the Keene Free Press.

Pictures tomorrow sometime

Forgive me for being overly-general, but something to consider: When you look at the internet, you see a LOT of college kids taking up the liberal agenda.
you also find millions of liberty lovers ... the internet seems to lean that way ... college kids were liberal before there was the internet

Are you calling for forced auto insurance on people that have never had an accident?  That is punishing people for something they might do.  That is like how Bush invaded Iraq because of WMD or punishing someone for a thought crime.  In NH, you have to be able to pay for any damage you do because of a wreck.  You are allowed to do this through insurance or other means, such as the money in your house, or your savings account.  This is fair and how laws should be; otherwise, it will get out of hand.  Romney pushed for mandatory health insurance in MA and many of the Democratic candidates for President want the same thing.  This means that you will go to jail and everything you own may be taken from you if you do not have health insurance.  Sure, it might sound insane but it is already the law in MA.

Can you give me some ideas of what Lauren needs if she's allowed to get it?  So I can send her books but what kind does she like to read?   Thanks! :)
sometimes you can donate books to the library and let the prisoner request them ... sometimes you can send them directly and then the prisoner can ask for them .... even when they came from the publisher ... they might be taken or just put in the prisoners "property" until they are let out ... it is different every time ... especially when they are treating Lauren uniquely.

C'mon people...I agree w/ a great deal of your 'mission statement'/agenda, etc...
but this non-license/reg. deal?
How many of YOU are driving around w/out a valid license, vehicle reg.? Some rules we have to kow-tow to.
Just a wild guess, but Lauren prob. doesn't have insurance on a non-reg. vehicle...that's great...so the rest of responsible society can pick up the tab if she plows into a mini-van full of kids...super.
what mission statement?
non-license seems like one of the best things to fight
I do not have a nh license.
Why would you assume that if Lauren doesn't want to follow the governments rules ... that she is financially irresponsible? Do governments pay people back when they destroy their houses?
There is nothing a cop does that is unique ... and useful to me.

Dan and Dale, I put your posts and artwork up on freelaurencanario.com.  If there's a problem with that, I can take it down.  Thanks for the help for lauren!
No problem here. It's a sad state that we live in a day and time when civil SERVANTS somehow live free of consequence.

Quote from: raineyrocks on October 19, 2007, 08:11 PM NHFTI love your letter it's great!  I wish I could write like that.  Any tips on what I should say that wouldn't be copying yours but would drive a point home like yours did?
Thanks. Advice? It depends on what's important to you. Two things really burn my bottom about this and most examples of abuse of power. The first being that they seem to be free from consequence. The second being that the job of judge is indeed made easy because most everything is predetermined. It rolls right off the pen when all you really have to say is "Oh, by the way, you can't do that."

In Ohio, we do have mandatory liability insurance. One time I had the displeasure of having to sit through traffic court in Toledo, OH (pop. 300,000+). Just about everybody there was there for either driving without a license or driving without insurance. In almost every single case, if you could come back within a reasonable amount of time and show you now had it, it was a slap on the wrist. Point being that mandatory insurance laws do NOTHING but make more criminals.

I love the what if game. We all get to kill everybody in the what if game......and nobody dies.

Auto insurance laws work the same way where I live.

Here are the quotes from our new troll babalugatz as posted on YouTube

QuoteI do agree w/ her protest of the new london land grab. THAT was an honorable endeavor, this non-reg. vehicle scene just means the crazy b*tch doesn't have insurance, so the rest of us get to pay. Want to live w/out rules, regulations or 'paperwork'? Then buy 1000 acres out west, stay on it & OUT of public. Wacko
babalugatz (5 hours ago)

Quoteacting the way they did would make anyone want to b*tch-slap them bloody. What a pack of a-holes! You can't drive on ANY designated roadway on the planet w/out proper paperwk. Are you effing kidding me?Pick your battles,; this ISN'T one of them, morons. BTW, these cops exemplify the word professional. Got the video to prove it.

Russell Kanning

isn't that pleasant ... lucky all of these big talkers don't actually do all of the harm they dream about.

and he will wonder why we don't take his advice

we are picking our battles .... Lauren doesn't want to have some government paperwork

karenijohnson

they cannot take Blood before CONVICTION without a court order... (except DUI??)

That Lauren JAIL is out of control... Husband or best friends have to get to work on JAIL REGULATIONS in NEW HAMPSHIRE... this is going all wrong... JAILS have procedures for almost anything that happens..

(from previous POST)

I inquired and was told that she is technically in quarantine because she has refused to cooperate with normal medical intake procedure.  She has refused to allow medical personnel to draw blood to test for communicable diseases, so they must keep her separate.  I didn't learn anything more specific about how this affects her shower situation.

Union Leader just ran with Lauren's story and the YouTube vid

In case my comment doesn't get approved, here is what I wrote:

Lauren Canario has not refused anything, except for refusing to pretend that she is a willing participant in the legal process. Police carried her to jail without her cooperation. They moved her to a transport van without her cooperation. Why does the judge think Lauren must voluntarily walk into the court room? Why does the system insist she violate her right to remain silent?

Lauren is a friend of mine. She is not a wild-eyed crazy. She doesn't seek confrontation with the government. Lauren is the most peaceful, gentle soul I've ever known. She mostly wants to live her life without having to ask Government permission to travel. Is that so wrong? It sounds like "freedom" to me. Seems like I've seen phrase about that, on NH license plates. (Oh, the irony!)
