One of the very best liberty movies is Harold & Maude.

This is a ten best movie of all time for Tunga.

Liberation from the treadmill of the human  life and rebirth cycle is not nessesarlly a bad thing.

Just about my favorite film.

A V for Vendetta sequel in the planning stages apparently.    Evey taking the show on the road to the now devastated US of A.  Might be entertaining.  It will be a long time until anyone sees it I imagine the way things go making movies.

Shows the ability for people to get along without the STATE.

I love that movie, it is awesome.  I just got it on dvd last year for Xmas.  Jeremiah got sick of the system and bs that came along with it!  I watched that on tv when I was 9 or 10 and I always dreamed of living that way. Unfortunately you'd probraly get busted for squatting on unowned land now but I believe back in the 70's it was easier.  I know it's just a movie but remember hearing about "mountain men" living that way? Cool!

By the way, I am having a blast with using quotes, it makes it so much easier to post on certain comments in a thread. Thanks again to everyone that helped me!  :D  Cathleen told me how to use the smileys when we helped Eques move in and I'm loving it!

Those who don't care for violence will probably not care for "The Outlaw Josey Wales," but a scene near the end in which Josey comes to terms with Chief Ten Bears is a true Libertarian moment.

Also, for those who like movies about surviving without the nanny state and living in situations where life is real and life is earnest, let's not forget "Heartland."

Another personal favorite of mine is "Uncommon Valor" (also not for the anti-violence crowd).

The date of the post and the picture in the last link in that review are, er, telling:

I was reading the forum tonight while Mary caught up on her TiVo'd "Darma and Greg" episodes. One episode had Tommy Chong as a guest, in his "Stoner" role.

As I am wont to do, I launched off into Wikipedia, IMDB, Google, etc., to read up on the "real" Chong, versus the "as reported in newspapers for being busted selling bongs" Chong.

Along the way I found this documentary, ""a/k/a Tommy Chong"

Bill Maher, Jay Leno, Cheech Marin... looks good.

Tom Sawyer

Thanks for the link. :)

QuoteOf the 55 defendants prosecuted, Tommy Chong was the only one with no prior convicitons to receive jail time. Justifying the 9 month sentence, the prosecutor cited the clasic 1978 movie Cheech & Chong film Up In Smoke as evidence that he had become wealthy "trivializing law enforcement efforts to combat marijuana trafficking and use." As Roger Ebert said, "You do not have to approve of drugs to be offended."

I recently watched Richard Linklater's first film Slacker.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102943/

There is a scene in the film were a couple of characters are walking down the street and prominently displayed in the background is a box truck with a Ron Paul advertisement on the side.
It says "Ron Paul: Libertarian for President". I thought that was interesting. My computer wouldn't let me make a screen shot. Curse you silicon friend!
