Lauren has been held over till Oct 23 and her bail raised to $20,000.

She is not cooperating... "You have the right to remain silent"... the judge doesn't like that.

You can look up the prisoner number on their website, but it isn't in their system quite yet, and the guards don't seem to have it yet either.

"Canario had to be carried in and out of the courtroom today and refused to speak. Judge Kevin McMahon ordered an evaluation to determine if she is mentally competent to assist in her defense. He increased her bond from $5,000 to $20,000."


They can call it "carried" in and out (hide the brutality) if they like, but I call it dragged.  I saw it.  Yes, Lauren was partly carried, but these government goons are not working very hard at that.


The "mentally competent" scam is what they think is thier ace.  This allowes them to torture through "ordanary & customary" means.  After all, who would think to question these tactics?  Just some "crazy broad", right?
This scam is something they have learnd (and been schooled) to tell (and believe) themselves.  It lets then sleep at night I suppose.

Didn't the New London homeowners already give up?  I heard Kelo cut a deal to have her house moved to another location.

Yes.... but Lauren is still standing up to them in a small way. Just because the government bullied the rest recently, does not make them right.

No, but the protest is made effective by the fact that it's the property owners standing up for their rights.  Some lady refusing to leave property that isn't even hers doesn't quite make the same point.

As I see it, Lauren is keeping this from becoming a dead issue.  Just because the NLDC won this case does not mean that Eminent Domain is justified.  It is still an evil that should be resisted.

Yes, it should be resisted, in the appropriate place by the appropriate people at the appropriate time.  There are many instances of eminent domain violation, in New London the battle is already over.  Now Lauren has a huge headache to deal with that will consume her time and money, and nothing to show for it.
