Bumping this thread...because the system hassles Lauren
and has locked her away in their government dungeon for a victimless "crime",
an issue which I think about multiple times every single day.

She sure chose a busy time to get thrown in jail again!

Any word on what's going on inside the jail? If other prisoners are flashing "Free Lauren" signs out the window, they must obviously know something about her situation.

Why is Lauren still in jail? Is this normal for dwl in NH???

concerned and puzzled,

Lauren's still in jail because she's refusing to cooperate with them - won't talk, won't walk, etc.  That's my guess.  I haven't had an letters back from her yet.

Most states have a limitation on how long they can hold someone if there was not an actual claim of damage.  Sometimes it is 6-8 hours or 24 hours or 3 days.

Is New Hampshire using the Patriot Act to hold a young lady who did  not show her papers, who did nothing wrong?

What a waste of taxpayers dollars.

What a display of how the system (Job security) abuses its power.

Guessing they are attempting to use her as an example?

You should ask them.

Does anyone have a contact number. I would like to call up and find out why the fuck she is still in there.
This is pure bullshit.

While others are being threatened with arrest Lauren is still being detained, after what is it now? 28 days
if she isn't speaking to officials then she isn't signing a form saying she will show up for hearing. that is probably why they are holding her. i would think they know who she is. perhaps joehaas or other member is familiar with why they could keep her so long, has there been an arrainment or hearing for her.
I'm in NC, so only there in spirit.

When the system asks the average confined human to do something, they do it.
The system isn't accustomed to people that can think and act autonomously,
even when locked in a cell and isolated.  Those jailers are probably drinking a twelve
pack after every shift as Lauren helps them realize that they need to quit their jobs
and stop serving the broken system. :)

I don't think she's ever CHOSEN jail. Robbery victims never choose to have a gun in their face ;)

I would like to suggest that this thread be stickied and the Ed Brown thread be un-stickied.  While much can be done for Lauren, about all that can be done for Ed or Elaine is to send them things in jail.   :(
