Wow.  I didn't know there were so many musicians here.  I've been working on some stuff but no folk music.  I've been planning on doing my own thing, but maybe I could contribute a track.  As my musical tastes are very eclectic, I've been working on different styles (blues, punk rock, hip hop etc...).  I think the message of Liberty should be in the mainstream more than it is and most political music borders on Socialist tendencies.

Question - why don't you want the music copyrighted?  It's easy enough to do and not expensive.  You wouldn't have to sell the music; but if it's not copyrighted, some unscrupulous types could basically steal it and copyright it then you'd really have some legal problems...

I don't know why anyone who writes music would not want to copyright it. I don't write, I just copy other people's songs...

I have no problem with people copyrighting their material.  In fact, I'm thinking of seeking permission from one libertarian organization whom I've recently been told has rights to a song I might want to include.
I have no idea (yet) if they have any "official" copyright, but that doesn't matter to me.  A guy who recorded it years ago told me (when I contacted him about using it) that they have the rights to it, and so that's cool.

We will only use material on this CD that we clearly have the right to use.  This is a Voluntary Production.

All material approved, so far, for potential use are original works by people known to me personally.

Hey, speaking of various styles; I just got one artist's permission to include one of her poems.   :icon_thumright:

William and I have been working on a recording... I'm pretty happy with the chorus, it got two thumbs up from William. ;)

Pick Me!I would love to be a part of this project!  I have at least one song that I know would be great.  (maybe even 2):bdance2:

Glad to hear it!  Thanks!
Do I recognize that face in the baby picture?  Are you the gal who also does some photography?  (Maybe something to be considered as cover art?)  ;D

I look forward to hearing your songs.  Have you recorded then before?

John

I had a very short practice session with one guitarist/singer tonight.

I'm quite hoping that she will be the one to join me - as the female voice - on a little blues tune called "Free State Project Blues."

Wow.  I'm happy to hear that.  I didn't know William was up for recording yet.

Tell William that I am looking for help on this project, and would love to have him volunteer to help with the chorus on one (or more) of the tunes.

Specifically, I'll (definitely) be looking for a variety of voices to sing (and I think you know where these fit in)  "And if you don't like him, you won't like me either . . ." and/or, "And if you don't like her, you won't like us either . . ."

John

Whether one already has recorded their songs or not is not so important.
However, if one already has their song(s) recorded, it may cut down on other production efforts.

LOL! I think this gal has MORE THAN ONE OR TWO songs she can contribute!

I have some good stuff I know Matty can sing...they need a guy's voice.

Not sure I get this.  Didn't you say you don't write?  Who is Matty?
